Im thinking about changing professions untill the one i have is fixed. can any of you tell me if pikeman is a good class and tell me the ups and downs in it? I would appriciate this a lot

In my opinion Pikeman is a good profession , and also a lot of fun. But if you're looking for a "fixed" profession I suggest you look elsewhere , I mean , pikeman is as "broken" as it gets! But I like it anyway...

hehe, i became a pikeman because it was NOT good, same way i became a rifleman... back in the day... before every one was totin around T21s

I'm about to master pikeMan for the third time now on Radiant, and I can tell you one of the fun part of the profession is the grind towards master. It's kinda cool to see what skill comes next and how to implement it into your combatstyle. So far I'm at 1-0-0-1 pikeMan and I'm having a blast with my stun2 attack 
The new accuracy boost on the Weapons is indeed something to be happy for.

erh... what do you mean thereare somedownsides? ...perhaps this is where the DEVs negligencecomes into play

I mastered pikeman today, I just love it. Too bad I have to drop it for MBH... stupid holos. But it's the progress that is fun imho. Still you make a great tank as a pikeman with all the area attacks.
Actually I dont find the profession THAT broken. Had no problems at all in PvE. (can't speak for PvP, might be broken as hell there). But then, I never go kill something without a full set of buffs, a crate of muon and a crate of vasarian brandy.

Yeah well maybe if you DIDN't go to a fight fully buffed, drugged, and bloated like a pig with food you would realize the following:
Our acuracy is horrible: -55 on the LVA
Our HAM costs are like an invisible enemy: try using specials unbuffed on a yellow mob..even if HE doesnt hit you, your specials costs will most deffinately kill you. Yeah, its worse than Carbineer in this field.
We (alone) suck in PVP: You simply have to dabble...you can't just be Pikeman..but then again..its like saying "i discovered america". For now..you simply have to have master brawler, and dabble in either fencer, TKA or what not to be effective in PVP as a pikeman.
Now the Ups:
Great fun doing PvE
Awesome moves
Good modifiers
Its cool on its own being a "Pikeman"

Uhm, the range mods has been fixed. My LVA's are at about -19 in rng mods, I hit 9 times out of 10 now. My VL is at +0 rng mod. Same thing there. PvP... I guess we suck there unless you go into a base full of enemies and start with area dizzy, area kd etc...

Yes Pikeman is good. It isn't the best but definitly isn't the worst.

pikeman sux, im currently 0033 and in pvp let me tell you i can swing and swing and swing and not hit the guy im supposed to be fighting, i sttod for about 25 mins attacking my TKM friend and never made contact once and using nearly 20 stims on healing myself. (no he wasnt attacking me either). So anyone that says pikeman is good is a clear liar.

And this was a positve thread at first... geez. Well i love pikeman, because ists different and their are very few who arent holopikers. Sure pikeman would be fixed eventualy, until then I'll keep piking it.

Pikeman is a cool profession, especially for PvE, but for PvP it is rough. The animations are cool to watch but the speed and accuracy are not too good.
