Well, I am thinking of dropping my rifle skills, and trading them in for a pike. Right now in PvP (which is all I care about) I can rock the majority of people I come across. My question is for the PvP pikeman, Is there a way for pikeman to really kick ass. I have seen 2 pikemen on syclla do a good job in PvP, one of them Defence stacks the other just has some crazy Pikes. I just want a simple answer as to if it is possible to be a force in PvP. I have some good lances from nightsisters which has sparked my interest to the proffesion. Also I tend to go with professions that arent popular, which rifleman is not. Thanks in advance for any tips/tricks to PvP, If there is a link to another thread about PvP feel free to call me stupid, but provide a link .

Well with Master Pike/brawler with some good mind poision, flame lances. Armor and buffs. Pikeman can be a force.

I am Master Pike/brawler/tkm and with skill tapes +25 to damage, speed, accuracy. I can solo a player atst with the player around. Of course I also have a good set or armor with stun layers

I have good Weapons for it, but I am not going to do any stacking cause i love master doctor to much.

It takes a lot more work and effort to be effective in PVP as a Pikeman than it does in any other profession I have had. But with the right tools (Awesome looted pikes with mind poison/mind fire), you can be an areattack powerhaus, capable of putting states on large numbers of people, making you indespensible for those tight, close range base defense blitzkreigs. Also, get Master Brawler, for intimidate2 and warcry2. Both of those put the brakes on a rifleman, fast. Learn how to use terrain and buildings to lure your victims into melee range and you can put TKA's to shame.

Well, I agree with the first part of what you said.

For you to compete in PvP as a doctor/pikeman you are going to have to find yourself some awesome lances. Pikeman just isn't a PvP profession on its own. Sadly, stacking is the only way to make it good.

As for the getting the master brawler part, while its good advice, doesn't work for this guy because he said he wants to keep master doctor which makes the master brawler part impossible.

All depends on your play style. With the right complimenting def mods, and the right sticks you can do ok. I personally have carb to accent the KD's, can't wait for the patch.

My question is why would you want to give up Master Rifleman for Master Pikeman. Don't get me wrong. I love being a Pikeman. But, as a Rifleman, you need two rifles to own most people in PvP:

Laser Rifle ( or a Krayt T-21) for high damage on unarmored targets

Jawa Rifle for moderate damage on armored targets

Using headshot2, you can mind incap someone in at most 5 shots unless they are buffed through the roof. Plus, don't forget /strafeshot2. That is a 5X damage multiplier. I shot a reb in Coronet one time with StrafeShot2 that hit him for over 1200 in damage. That was one shot after the 75% PvP damage reduction.

So, my advice is to keep rifleman if you are interested in winning in PvP and not interested in getting kited in PvP.

The key to Pikeman is the Fencer Stances and Grips tree.
