Thread: A Question on Pikeman
The thing about your post is, you don't tell us if the TK was wearing armor or not.
If the guy was wearing armor as well, why go for the vibro lance? You should've used the basic lance so you would at least rack up some dps.
If he wasn't wearing armor, again, why are you using the vibro lance? Why not go with the long vibro axe?
If you found your main problem to be the inaccuracy, you should switch to the basic lance in duels (I do).
Also, go buy some canape. You can eat 3 which each give you 200+ to focus and willpower. Its good stuff against riflemen and BHs and their ilk who are all about the headshots.
2 shots of brandy + 3 spots of canape = Mind goodness (you can add muon on top of that, woot!!)

Ok, he wasn't wearing armor and he wasn't buffed?!?
You were buffed wearing a set of 80% composite.
I'm sorry but even at your level you should've had no problem beating this guy. Auto-attack with a basic lance would've done the trick just fine.
Even if he was an uber defense stacker you should've been able to win.
For shame!
Legwand, it's too bad you are not on my server. I can use lessons in PVP. ![]()
For some reason the last time I pvp'ed scared me enough to never do it again. But i was not Master Doc at that time. The guy set me on fire and diseased me right after I just spent 10k on a set of Doc buffs. I was so dead a doc had to revive me.
I have yet to pvp now that I got a few NS lances and Master Doc. Any other tips for PVP?
Thanks.

Well Gunman did start a "Pikeman PvP" thread a while ago and was going to sticky a finished draft.
In the meantime, all I can say is if you are a Doctor/Pikeman, you're not going to be the best PvP'er out there. If you lose, don't be upset, its going to happen.
If you're going to duel, first you have to know what the opponent is going to attack you with. If hes going to hit you with some kinetic weapon, strap on the ubese armor. If its a ranged opponent, go with the composite. The reason to bother switching is because of the 3-400 difference in HAM costs between the two. Why wear the set of comp if a set of ubese will do?
For weapons, it depends on what the other guy has on. If hes not wearing any armor, go with the LVA. If its the ubese armor, go with the VL. If hes decked out in composite, best to use the basic lance (solely for the dps).
For some tactics, try to start off with an intimidate. That 50% decrease in the opponents damage is vital in PvP. After that you can try a warcry to get the delay. Spin attacks to dizzy followed by a KD are always good. If the guy kites, use that lunge. Lunge is the most important attack when fighting a ranged guy. I think thats about it.
Of course the smart stuff like being buffed and spiced and fed. As well make sure you have enough stims in your inventory. Nothing worse (as I found out again tonight) then having a fight seemingly in the bag, only to run out of stims and get dead. (disease+poison+bleeding+no stims = me dead).
I'm sure other people have more. I'll post more if I think of it.
