ok ive asked on my galaxy server and on the jedi forum

what does the pike weilding community think of my mad idea

grinding jedi is getting a little stale so im thinking of a hybrid.

was thinking at first of tka with some jedi toys thrown in but am also concidering a hybrid pike wielder as i have always liked the pike animations

what do you think, master pikes, master defender, healer 4xxx

no armor, major defences and self healing a plenty

id really like to take a few other jedi skills and wear armour but that aint gonna happen due to force powers stopping when wearing armour so i figure why not use jedi defence and go from there

but how does a pikey cope with throwing damage out? can you do enough, ive pritty much given up on the tka idea as it would leave me no offence at all unless i thru all my points at defender and that defeated the point of having tkm.

i dont pvp very oftern, but will join in if my guild is fighting so that really isnt a concern.

im more into looting stuff and generally having fun.

good idea/bad idea what you think

hmm sounds interesting altho im not sure what teh def mods for m defender will be but as a m pikei can throw about 1200 dmg average with my current vl and thats nice

all i have to say to that idea is, there will be atleast 2 of us on the server. i love pike and defence and healing its agreat idea.

Its not really a mad idea, I have heard talks of many people getting a Hybrid Jedi template. I am Masterpike/2000healer/0400powers/2002enhancer/2200defender. I find it to be very versatile in both PvP and PvE. As I can use my action pool for attacking and my force bar for healing (an cloak woot, I love cloak and wouldn't live without it). I am a pretty good tank in PvE since I can heal myself quite well too. And if I can tank with just Mpike/2200defender, I am sure you will be more than able to cope since you will have MDEF, I dont wear armor and I seem to do just fine (sometimes better than the people that do wear armor, which is strange), I went down the Nightspider cave with a friend (Jedi, not mdef and not complete template) and we killed Kiin'Dray after about 15minutes, so you will be fine PvE wise if you use all the basics (COB/AURA Intim Stun etc)

There are a few drawbacks to this though. For starters if you just want to have pikeman for good dmg, it is probably not the best of proffessions to choose from unless you have a really good pike (which I am lucky for hehe). Also, I find force run to come quite handy (but you could just use Parwen Cake for burst run) and another thing I find important is channel force, as this is quite often a lifesaver lol, but then again with Mdef you may not get into some of the situations I do.

Another Drawback would be that a lot of bounty hunters would come for people at your level (I get a lot of bounty hunters at 110k Padawan, can take a lot of them) and if they rooted you, you would possibly be in a hard situation (my counter for root is either: cloaking hehe or rooting back and running to them once my root has broken). Also, I am unsure if you can join the knight trials (if you wanted to, and if they turn it back on lol).

Most important thing to say is just have fun! I have loads of fun with my toon, and can handle self well in pve, and I am always welcoming Bounty Hunters too,oh and Im sorry all you non-jedi people about me talking about jedicrap lol asyou prob dont wana hear about it!

mmm intereting

my origonal idea was to pick some of the more fun parts of jedo and mix with a none jedi proff

i was thinking

powers x4xx, enhancer 4xx2, healer 4xxx and the rest in defences

but had thought that without armour id be toast unless i took master defender

does aura stack with cob?

and if not how do they compair? does cob work just as well or?

Good idea sept u wouldnt have enough points...Once you hit paddy its impossible to get any master and extra anything.

AFAIK Cob does NOT stack woth Aura. With MDEF you will be able to tank anything that I can tank easily, I have gone on the avatar and tanked the whole of the firstroom solo (just seeing if I could do it lol) thats about 5-6ish level 80/81.

To be honest, if I could go mdef I probably would, but I didnt fancy grinding anymore jedi lol, however it takes up lots of SP (with mpikeman) so it has drawbacks such as long force regen etc.

And anyway, if aura stacked with cob that diminishing return formula would more than likely kick in im sure. You also say the more fun parts of jedi, well, I wouldnt be one to call Defender fun in the first place LOL.

Just do what you think would be fun (since we got another respec for the ppl that clicked it wrong), oh and I will throw in this comment.... CLOAK RULES lol I like it lots.

I was almost gonna go m pikes/m defender/healer 4000, the only weakness I saw in it was force drain, and lack of channel. I decided not to for my tkm/m pikes/doc 4000 is almost the same thing, but w/o a 1500 heal and avoid incap. (and im too lazy to grind to jedi, haha)
