I am a Master Pikewoman/Master TK/Doc 4000/Combat Prowess 0004 with a combat level of 80.
My friend is a Master Sword/Doc 4000/Combat Prowess 0004/TK-Fencer abilities mix with a combat level of 67.
My other friend is a Master Bounty Hunter/Carbineer 0440/Doc4004 with a combat level of 76.
Does combat level mainly effect only PvE? I have seen mixed testing and even this dosen't make sense unless yor mobbed by a mass group of level 80+.
With good food and supplies, all three of these templates can hold their own.
I watched my level 67 Master Sword friend defeat a level 80 melee tank player.
Also if SWG now pushes for teamwork, when you team with a level 80 combatant, you all become level 80. So, does it pay to be level 80 solo or mix your template to be more versatile with a lower combat rating but more skills and abilities?
Also I have seen mixed same level verse same level testing. My Master Pikewoman is level 80 and I dueled for fun a level 80 Jedi. The fight ended in a draw after 5 minutes of just beating and healing. I think the Jedi would of ran out of force points after awhile.
With Powerboost, COB, Bacta Infusion, and Stim D's, I can stand toe to toe with a level 80 Knight.
What does Combat level really mean?

Well For a start higher combat level gives higher amount of health, although that isnt the answer to your question
. I am level 76 and have fought a lot of level 80 knights (a mixed bag really, some Mpowers, some MDEF/MLS and some Mhealer+Mls ETC) And most of these I have fought well against and beaten a few times too. Fought a MDEF/MLS and was holding my own very well, they had to go afk so the outcome of that fight wont be known, but I do know it lasted for like 8minutes+ and they probably would soon to run out of force.
In PvE it is a huuge difference with different combat levels, For example I hit level 50's for about 2-3k lol (with impale) and only hit level 79s for about 1-1.1k max with impale.
I do somewhat agree though, this CON systemisn't much better than the old one, I get told that a level 80 person is "a very risky fight" and then go on to beat them (and no doubt some personwith a lower combat rating that myself would be able to own my ass lol)

In PVE the Combat Levels effect the damage multiplyer. The higher you are then something
else the more damage you do. Same thing goes in reverse. If the PvE opponent is higher then you then it will do more damage.
However, in PvP the damage multiplyer for levels is not applied. therefore your templates may be more valid although, as mentioned above, the higher the level the more health you have.
