OK i have a friend that is a master fencer and last night when i got to the imp outpost in dant, she was owning everyone on a duel. I was impressed by that and, knowing i could beat her (i got a really nice template ) i challenge to a duel.

Round 1

I put on my kinetic resist armour and equip my deadly LVA and we start.......boom 5 sec im dead

Im stunned, speechless. She never scratched me b4 and now shes destroying me?!?! omg whats wrong?!?!

so i challenge her again

Round 2

I know that my armour was killing my ham costs even more so this time, i dont use my armour, but still with the LVA.

And there i go again, staring at the stars...

At this point im so pissed that i need a break form duels.

I then go to the cantina and heal my bf that at this point is around 60 (not bad but i needed a break)

So after about 10min i say, you know what, im gonna beat her. And i challenge her once more

Round 3

Out of despair, not knowing what else to do to beat her, i pull out my Lance, yeah just that basic lance, and equip my armour.

And.....she barely scratched me this time and the next time i used the same set up. I beat her with alot of HAM left.

So whats the point of this post? I think its pretty obvious that our HAM costs on our main weaponsis our biggest issue (along with block). Analizing the battle, it was obvious that she wasnt beating me the 1st 2 rounds, the truth was, i was beating myself with specials.

Now that we got a new correspondent, im hoping that we can get things done.

Next time you guys duel someone, use a regular lance made with advanced components. You could b surprised with the results....i sure was

I think that's pretty funny and similiar to my story. I'm a swordsma though, and we have pretty high HAM costs too, not sure how much it relates to a pikemans though. The reason I'm even on this forum was to ask some of you how much a nice vibro lance I found would sell for, that'll come later though.

I was dueling my Friend, a Teras Kasi Novice, who had his template like 0/2/3/2 wheras I was 0/4/2/3 in Swordsman. I mean, it's pretty safe to say I was beyond him in skills with my weapon of choice. We dueled, and I was wearing my 70% kinetic Ubese, I pumped in about 3 specials with my Two hand curved sword and my HAM was nearly 3/4s of the way down, then he KD me, and I was incapped.

Next time, I used far fewer specials, matter of fact I didn't use any. I let him punch away at me with CoB on, and when he was near death, I swung a Head hit 3 at him and won the fight. It seemed the whole time, I was the one killing myself, rather than him killing me.

The key here is you need Doctor buffs as a pikeman to really thrive. With all stats buffed, the costs are low and regen is high. Get a meelee powerup that reduces speed and mind cost, and you can spam specials as much as you want. Muon helps even more.

well also, like you put, one of our problems is our special abilty "block".

Fencers get this as dodge which works almost to well.

by the way my friend who is master fencer dueled a jedi on our server and won 2 out of 3 times. why?

his dodge worked so well that almost every hit (and Jedi hit fast) was dodged.

In fact the only reason why he did loose that last one was because he got hit in the mind which he was low in

Oh yea and he accidently killed the jedi because we didn't realize the Jedi kept dueling people so he had another KO from a TKA just minutes before and with 3 incaps in 15 minutes he died instantly....oops

well it wasn't a big loss, he wanted to be imperial

no viper, the point of my post is not to point out how good fencers are, but how ridiculously high our ham costs are.

I got uber high defenses too, and i can do pretty good agaisnt just about everything. Like i said, i beat her easily after i pulled out my lance.

I didnt lose cus i was missing alot, but cus i was killing myself with specials that werent doing enough dmg to her.

But yes, all you said about their dodge and our block is true. I was thinking about a fencer/pistoleer myself. The over 200 dodge mods should help a bit muahahaha
