It basically said "don't surrender pikeman, it will one day be one of the most powerful professions in the game. When devs nerf, they nerf hard. When devs buff, they have a tendency to overdo it." I then cited 4 examples from SWG, and 1 from EQ.

Sucks, doesn't it? I've had that happen before, I was typing up something that was originally going to be small, but ended up being much larger, only to have it disappear when doing a preview...Now I always type anything sizeable someplace else and copy & paste it into the forum.
I don't think any of us want to be buffed to excess such that we would require a nerf or a toning-down. A few long-time fencers are shaking right now because of how well dodge stacks with pistoleer, combined with their defenses - making fencer+pistoleer a very good template, almost a flavor-of-the-month, and garnering a large influx of people and a lot of talk about nerfs. I hope SOE doesn't overdo it *if* (hopefully *when*) they fix our specific issues. Due to the holocrons, we've already seen an increase in the pikeman population that I thought would never happen. I mean, I've tried to keep a record of all the pikeman on my server (which was not hard when there were 2-3 of us) but now I'm running into masters that I've never seen before. I can't keep track of them all because the holo-pikemen come and go so quickly, it's hard to tell who is playing it because they want to and who is just passing through.

oh they will be master in a week anyway if pikman gets overpowered

I think he refers to the one day knockdown was bugged and creatures was down until they died. It was fun going nut in the Rancorcave on Dath with sweep2 that day

That was a fun day, that was also right after they made bolma missions on dath 25k. I made a lot of cash that night, although, I felt a little bad killing all those huge creatures while they slept so quietly.
Actually, no, I didn't feel bad at all. And we weren't overpowered, anyone with KD could do it that night...ah, it was fun at least.
