I've been a Pikeman since I started this game 4 days after launch, and I've endured every step of the way. Through all of the ignored please to the devs to fix us and all of the riducule I've taken from players in game about how much pikes suck.

Through it all, I endured, I didn't care what anyone had to say about it, I was a master Pikeman, something few people could stick with. I learned to be good with my profession in spite of all of it's shortcomings and inadequicies and being sorely underclassed by everyone, and I was proud of it.

How many others brandished the 'Master Pikeman' title above their head with pride? It was who I was, I endured fueled by the hope that one day the devs would give our class some distinction in it's own right and make others take notice of us.

I still believe that day is yet to come, but sadly, I may not see it. As of now, I am surrendering Master Pikeman and moving on to swordsman, then fencer, then tka. After I've finished all of the brawler classes I will move on to ranged, then the other profs.

I've been master for a long while now, left with no challenges, and to be a profession nomad for a while is the last great challenge that I see ahead of me for the time being.

I will always be a Pikeman in my blood, and I do plan to return someday.

So light a candle for me fellow Pikemen, I got 900k pike xp saved up and it will be put to use when I return home. Make some noise out there and keep up the good fight for Pike rights, and hopefully, maybe by the time I return, we Pikemen will have carved out a place of respect, in the SWG universe.

I salute you all, and my Pikeman spirit be with you always!

hehe, yeah you're right, we do need better profession titles, but I do kinda like the 'Foot Soldier' title though.

Just so you know that 900k xp is useless if u give up the profession. When you 're-learn' novice pikeman your xp will be capped at double the requirement for the current level (which is 150k for the first skill box I think), therefore you will end up with something around 300k. I don't know the numbers for sure but you can kiss the most of that xp good-bye.

Sorry to see another piker fall by the wayside.

Hmmm, I was wondering about that. I was under the impression that it would fall back down to current cap only if you were to use that weapon again once you had dropped the skills.

Which was why I put my pike away immediately before dropping the skills. They are still there even after dropping, I guess when I come back we will see what happens. I will just be sure not to touch a pike till I retrain up again.

Um you better be careful because you might lose a good chunk of that if you drop all your pike skills

the worst is if you actually surrender your pike skills from brawler.

If you do that then you'll lose it ALL because once you train polearms I again your xp will be capped at 10K

My advice is to either keep novice pike or at least polarms IV.

Don't be so proud of this technological terror you've created. The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force.

Heh well, all I have to say is: Try being SL/Carbineer from day 2 (well, headed there anyway) and then coming crying to me about being a gimp

Currently a 4/3/3/3 pikeman and loving the stares

"Heavy Cleaver", oh my, we need better profession titles.

Thanks, so I'll loose it all as soon as I train polearms 1 huh? Man that sucks, because I know that at some points I'll have to give it up.

What a waste, why the heck do they have it set up like that anyway? Where's the benefit of robbing us of such a huge time investment?
