Ok, I'll admit that post-CU my enthusiasm for this game has waned fairly severely.

Please, someone give me a good reason to play again. I've loved being a pikeman for a couple years now and hate the thought of just giving up. There has to be something about pikeman worth celebrating that will draw me back in. Even in our weakest days, the cool animations we had kept me playing. Nowadays I feel more disillusioned than I did at many of our darkest moments. So many problems, so few improvements.

So, what's left for me now? Is this a lost cause and I should just cancel and get on with my life or is there hope left for the old-school pikeman? Someone give me some hope.

pikemen kick butt now? they're possibly the strongest melee proff, and when combined with tkm for example, are tankers of near jedi proportions? what else you want man?

I was in the same position you were. After the CURB, I pretty much stopped playing. But I've been in groups where the survival of the group as a whole was greatly enhanced by intimidate/warcry, and the damage I was doing with my (admittedly, exceptional) pikes was on par with the damage dealers. I can still solo many things in the game, given time. Overall, pike seems fairly well-rounded and useful, with attachments and good weaponry. Even without all that, you can still do decently well.

Pikeman's too hot to handle.

Awesome tanking, good damage, combined with some doc, and you've got yourself a template that makes jedi run for the hills
