I unstuck the old one since a lot of the information there didn't apply anymore and it was also a very big thread.

It looks like a need for a new one has arisen though, so here's some good templates.

Feel free to discuss pikeman templates here, how well they work for you, and even rate them.

My current Template:

Master Pikeman

Master Combat Medic

Novice TKA

From a pure damage standpoint, my 1143 dmg pup'd pike doesn't have the hitting power it would with critical strike from swordsman. But, with the combination of flame/poision from cm, it does decent damage. I rated it a 5 just because this template is more about debuffing than damage. Warcry + advanced Thyroid rupture + the other cm debuffs can put a hurting on a toon while another person in your group takes them out.

Even with all of the debuffs, the defense in this template lacks. Improving my armor via slicing would help, but that's an expensive proposition especially given that armor decays very fast now. The swords fotm's or high dps rip through me one on one.

Excellent stacking of debuffs allow for a great crowd control template. Heavy on the mind, but in the middle of a group offers a great way to help turn the advantage in battle.

I left the rating as X because it depends on your definition of good PvP. If by good PvP you mean the most u83rest template ripping everything up, then no, it's fairly low. If by good pvp you mean filling it's intended role well and suports the group well, then it would receive a high rating.

Fairly good solo, but not strong enough to take on a lot of mobs by itself. Again, excellent for grouping.

First, it's pike, so it's fun /wink. Second there's a lot of ability choices with this template and it offers a wide variety of specials that keep things fresh. I have a lot of fun with it.
