That is how much was asked of me for a nightsister energy lance. Is this a fair price? I have barely nicked a million in my entire SWG career. If this is the going rate, it apears I won't ever lay my hands on one.

you found a rich jerk who is a pikeman....congratulations....
its worth 25 million if you have a crap load more than that...
...
if all you have is 3 million to spend th lance would probably only be worh 1 mil, maximum.
But be warned, if you sell it, you may never own another one.

Well, lately I've seen schematics sell for 10 million and the required vibro units sell for 1.5 - 7.8 million each, and you need 2 of those. 25 million is pretty high, it's definitely not worth that at all. I'm getting ready to be completely fed up with all the super-inflated prices being put on polearms. People selling junk polearms for 1000% more than what they are worth, the price of NS vibro units being unbelievable, people selling schematics for 10 million...And the people switching to pike who are willing to pay "whatever the price". I've been guilty of paying extreme prices for somethings myself (*looks at sig*), but it's starting to be that pikeman is the most expensive and over-priced combat profession in the entire game. It's really starting to get to me, especially with the junk polearms and the energy lance stuff. The good polearms I don't mind being expensive so much. People selling player-made quality lances for 1 million makes me angry.

Yeah you are right, I have seen standard health disease NS lances selling for hundreds of thousands of credits on vendors on my server. It's insane.

Its acceptabel for pikeman to fight over good loots to me.
But when we have to fight everyone for the tools we need to compete.
And these people who are just loaded on cash becouse they are armorsmiths, or weaponsmits, or chefs
....THEN they go buy an uber pike, and become pikeman.
....THEN they go buy an uber pike, and become pikeman.Or when people find uber duber polearms those polearms don't go to pikeman. What happens is, some one finds one of these awesome weapons, and says, "oh hey, this rocks, i'll be pikeman untill this breaks, then drop it."
In theory it almost even sounds like a good idea. A proffesion who's strengths lie in loots. It sounds like if you want to be a good pikeman you, need to put forth the initiative and effort, and go earn your power.
But that isnt' the case at all. It just goes to whoever is willing to pay the most money over what it is actually worth.
So poor pikeman who are really really cool people and awesome....people like Ark Mindspear, who is always broke as crap beocuse i only have one account. I can't be an all fighting PC and fund my character with my other three characters.
So every day i have to watch as the really good weapons go to the person who is willing to burn the most money for it, and it is really frustraighting. And i will NEVER be able to compete for the really good loots, becouse i will never have millions of dollars to spen PER WEAPON.
So...my only option is to get my ass out there and kill those night witches myself. The problem with this, is the chances of any one person finding anything exceptional are VERY small, no matter how much time you spend.
There are HUNDREDS of people out there very day killing those girls, and only a couple come hope with something worth even keeping every day. And out of the thousands of trips people make there a week to kill people maybe one comes home with somethign exceptional. Put look at this....THEY ARN'T EVEN A **edit**ING PIKEMAN!
SO!....it goes ont he forums.....
then after a week of people biding in incriments of 100k then just tossing millions at it, it goes to the highest bidder. The **edit** who hasn't killed nightsisters in weeks and just PvPs with his uber-elite mind fire/mind-poison/mind-bleed lances that he bought.
THEN! when you try and **edit** about how much you suck becouse polearm hit 3 only does 20 damage in PvP on a high end hit...IF you hit! They all say, "ohh bull**edit**, you just don't know how to play your proffesion, pikeman have become the most feared class, and kick my ass all the time."
I'M SICK and TIREd of hearing about Mesk!

nothing personal, but i really just DON'T CARE about how uber all the weapons he bought was.
And i'm not saying mesk is a bad guy, or that he gloats or anything....i have only seen like one post from him ever....but i have seen like 20 where people tried to justify pikeman sucking becouse one guy on Bloodfin managed to get his hands on the good loots.
I'm sick of people posting about how uber the lance they just looted was. And i NEVER see an actuall pikeman post it....
It's always some dumb crap who dosen't even know what he has in his hands and comes here looking to find out how much he can sell the peice of **edit** for.
Thats pisses me off more than when peple come in here with a 7-133 damage night sister lance with a 40 strength health disease, asking how many hundreds of k it's worth......OHHHH IT'S NAME IS YELLOW!!! Whoopty frickin doo....that means itshouldn't sell for less than 1 million.
But at least those guys are funny becouse they are generaly ignorant of what they are talking about...and they thought they had somethign really uber even though i wouldn't use the POS to scrath my back...i mean...the rise of their anticipation as they open their inventory and see they looted one, and raced here thinking they struck it rich, and then being flamed, locked, and dissapointed, amuses me to no end....

Ijust looted a 250-800 @ 1.5 VL, I'm not a pikeman...what is it worth? I am on starstrider, and i want to know what i should start the bidding at....
just PISSES me off, becouse I CAN'T get one of these...I can't afford one, and i can't loot one.
Realisticly....i think, i might eventually get one of those "uber" lances...here's whats gonna happen...
One, day i'll be laying on my back, becouse a TKA dueled me and insisted we didn't use armor...I'll get a /tell from one of the people who i used to conversate with. Not a great freind, but some one who has heard my endless bitching about Pikeman, and who understands how hard it's been these past 9 months. He'll ask me what it's worth. now...i'm an honest guy...so i say. Well it's WORTH about a million credits or so...but you could probably actually sell it for closer to 15-20 million. now, this guy is a good guy too, but 15-20m is alot of chedder. And Me being Me i have about 60k on for buffs and shuttles for the week, 300k at the most... so i tell him i NEED the weapon, and i'll do close to anything for it. So what will he do, he'll hit me where it hurts, and ask me for the RIS i have.....
I'll gain power and loose my uniqueness....

I STILL don't stand a chance against any other melee's unless i have heavy DOTs and LOTs of them. THEN on top of that i have to hit warcry and peace, just so i'll live long enuff for the DOTs to matter.
While some jerk who has been pikeman for about 2 weeks becouse he heard how easy it was if you buy good weapons, and he's got millions, so why the hell not.
Buys some good weapons, breezes thru the class, then goes out and PvPs. kicks MY ass, becouse he has more money, THEN i get the ol' "wee'pikeman bows respectfully to you" message. And i think BULL**edit**! He thinks he's better than me! Ohhh...if' i could do anythign to him...i woudl so do it, and LIKE IT!
TKAs too....they know i can beat them if we wear armor, becouse i am master brawler too....i use DOTs, then warcry2. And when i kill them they have STILL beat the **edit** out of my mind, thru my 80% kinetic armor, even though they claim armor kills them, so those little asses keep making me duel withought armor...so KD+Dizzy and mindhit1 mindhit1 mindhit1 and i'm out....**edit**ers.
Then they think they are SOOOO **edit**ing hot....
i HATE them more than anything.
i guess my point is...well...one of my points....it's very infuriating, that as long as i have been a pikeman, these people are spending like 2 weeks working on it, and either due to shear luck or their bank account, they are more efficient, and therefore better than me, and there for more respected, and therefore hotter **edit** than me.
AND WE ALL KNOW...Ark MindSpear is the hottest **edit**ing **edit** in town...
those little kids are just cold crap, on a paper plate.

i read that sticky about pricing for looted polearms and stick to it. Every polearm i've looted that didnt match up to those criteria i've sold on the bazaar for 6k or less mainly cause when i was a newbie pike, i couldnt find any "good" weapons i could afford. Also i agree wholeheartedly that prices are way too inflated. I've seen speed attachments (+1) for 200k on eclipse vendors (*mutter*) and i've seen "normal" NS lances for 200k+. Just seems rather silly to charge that much for sub-excellent weapons. I'm still looking for a "decent" looted vl or lvaand i'm still looking for polearm speed tapes (+2's and +3's as i'm broke) so the over-inflated prices are a bane to my search.

Oh man, I forgot the kicker, the person wielding it was a chef. So there you go. I guess it was just a symbol of his wealth, don't even think he was a pikeman.
