Thread: Pikeman...how does it compare in PVE?
ok, been master pike for a while, just got master swordsman today. This is how it looks:
Pike with standard crafted pike vs. Swordsman with standard crafted Powerhammer -
Powerhammer wins damage wise hands down. 2hHit3 has a 6.0 damage modifier, and you can target mind pool. Combine the two, get some mind DOT lances, and you can solo most anything in the game
Looted Pike with 1k+ max damage vs. Acklay Powerhammer -
unless you need to target the mind pool, pike is the way to go. Using polearmHit3 (which only has a 4.0x damage mod 
) you can get up to 9k damage without a KD.
Basically, it comes down to the equipment.
Oh, pike gets slightly more as far as speed mods at master, so you'll be slightly faster with pike.
As far as making a decision goes...
Polearm looks cooler. Does anything else really matter? I mean, sure, swordsmen do more damage than us, and fencers avoid being hit, and TKAs.. never mind. But all of that matters not without style.
