Thread: Pikeman + FS skills + temploiting = teh awesome

Pikeman will be one of the best proffessions in the game with the upcomming FS skills, for example adding the +12 melee speed and +12 melee accuracy makes almost every pikeman attack with a 4.0 speed pike attack at the 1 second speed cap, pretty cool eh. Now, add the +20 ranged deffence, and +20 melee deffence FS skills and you're off to a good start. Next you'll want to temploit a bit, screw getting any ranged attacks it's just not worth it, keep it all brawler, first master brawler, Intimidate 2 and warcry 2 are just too good to pass up. Next you'll want to load up on the deffence, I reccomend getting the precision tree and meditation tree from teras kasi to start with (the decent ranged and melee deffence is what you'll be wanting, plus power boost and FoW isn't something to sneeze at). Now you'll want some fencer, if you go 4/04/0 I believe you will max out your ranged/melee deffences, plus you'll have almost 100 deffence to states like blind/dizzy/stun/KD and 50 to intimidate I think... now I know what some of you may think, so what, anyone can do this same thing with any number of combo's, well sure, but centering it around pikeman is just damn cool. Also I think novice medic is possible in this template.
As a note, with this template I went toe to toe with jedi knights (as long as they weren't jedi deffence masters I always had a big chance). Completely unbuffed and unarmored I always gave them a run for their money (mainly because I was nearly impossible to hit, my own HAM costs are what always killed me, but with buffs I'd have owned)

This is all going to change, you do realize, correct? The speed formula is something that is known to be changing in the Combat Nerfance..

Only good. The combat as it stands now is not combat.

I've been told that "jedi luck" increases your chance of getting good loot. If true, I see a whole lot of pikemen picking it up.
Then pikeman + luck 4 + 0/0/1/0 smuggler becomes uber. Loot a good DoT lance, hit someone with it, /feigndeath, wait for it to win the fight for you

One of two things happen there...
First, they'll nerf DoTs first.
That, or we'll get smugglers nerfed.

Ya, I know this, but that's not comming for a long time, they still have the smuggler revamp and a couple other things to go before the combat balance... so I say use it while you can, and I'm just saying, this will really help pikemen out in PvPif done right.

meh, that's still enough time to enjoy a good template while it lasts, even at the bare minimum you could go a month with this template before the combat balance, and I most certainly will try it out on the live server
