Thread: Yet again...Swordsman vs. Pikeman....

I am debating between swordsman and pikeman right now....I know the biggest differences...Swords= Solo everything, uberness, etc etc...Pike= DoTs...fun.
Only thing I dont understand is, how is pikeman more fun than swordsman? I really have no experience in either, I was doing fencer for a long time, then people found out it was good so everyone drifted there. I dont see near as many pikeman running around as swordsman, so thats a big plus for me.
Back to my main question, how is pikeman more fun than any other melee profession?

right now im a master swordsman and pikeman. personally i think pikeman is more fun because you have area knockdowns and the animations are very nice. when i get into trouble or am fighting NS elders or krayt i use the power hammer.

Master Pikeman + Master Swordsman + Master Brawler (along with medic 1100 and scout 3030) and you can take basically anything in the game.

tbh, unless the MOB has 100% kin or elec resists, I'm on pikes the entire time, cause I outdamage myself with pikes.

Im a master swords/master pike/master brawler. I have dropped using swordsman for everything except elders and the ocasional krayt or a turret. Pike owns everything

I just got master pike about 2 weeks ago, droped tka for it, its a blast I have only died once when piking and that was my fault spamming wrong specail.

Heh, i have the swordsman/pikeman/brawler/medic also. with my 930 some odd damage pike at 2.9 speed... oohhhhhh buddy watch out. =P

Animations aregreat, area KD is really great. Nice state-attacks. Good against groups (pve)

Master Swordsman
Grinding Pikeman 3042
Swordsman is powerful, but I like the way you can more easily target Action Pools with Pikeman. You would think that 2H Sweep in Swordsman would target Action, but it oft times hits mind or hit points. LegAttacks in Pike crush Action points on enemies, so its much easier to target or finish off an enemy if you've whittled down AP.

well im 4434 pike and after a couple more stlaker lairs ill get master, and after that ill have done the melee profs, swords was awesome cause i had a nice scythe and quick ph, but my template wasnt near finished then so i didnt have novice medic and when i tried an elder got my ass pwned, it was a long time ago i prolly didnt intim her but pike i just like more cause its not constantly sapmming headhit or mindhit, u can play around with the NPC's and knock em on their ass while dizzy, or do it to the whole swarm of em, my templates master riflemen, maser pike, novice medic, 4301 tka, and im not much a soloer but i dont know anything i cant take out, yea and i was just fencer too...wait too boring for me

I have mastered Swords and I'm working on Pikeman atm. I personally like Pikeman better just b/c it is more fun. Swordsman was cool b/c I could solo anything, but I just prefer Pikeman.
