I'm setting up an alt purely for Krayt Hunting, H'ell be Doc 0,2,4,0 for buffing, and who knows what else, probably Master Pike Master Brawler....

I have a doc 0,4,4,0/Master Pike, and Swordsman 0,4,0,3. I use this template for Krayt hunting often. Pike works as a great tank (although my BF would say other wise).
With the right speed Pike, you can stay in line with the damage of TKA's.
Good Luck, Pike is a great profession.

My main is a TKM, and his damage is **edit**... I have 230 dmg knucklers too.
Which weapon do you use, Pike, or Scythe?

With a speed 2.0 LVA 475 max damage, i can use Hit 3once everysecond with out speed tapes. Not sure if could keep up with those VK's
A regular crafted LVA has a speed around 4.5, so there isa major difference.I only use a Power Hammer to work on NS Elders, since they are imune to pike damage types.I use a VL for the Juvi krayts and the LVA for the others, depends on their reists.
As for the Doc stuff, 0,4,4,0 is a must, i buff for about 2180-2200 with good packs.
The only down side to Pike is being dependent on looted weapons. So be ready to spend alot of time on Dath hunting for them. The upside to Pike are the timesyour surrounded by a group of enemies, and you can use one of several spin type attacks, stun, dizzy, kd, etc..

I am 4-3-4-0 doc and can buff for 2k-2100. 0-4-4-0 is not needed, just a med clothing item, bivoli, and a good droid.

on ur template containing doc x.2.x.x will you really be able to buff as much as you want, even with the best packs, droid, food ,and clothing. Will you be able to get the level of buffs needed to take on these Krayts?

Cool... I'll probably try and have my Master Doc friend make me Janta Buff Packs as well... Any tricks to soloing Krayts?

TkA is great against less armored opponents, but the med AP or pike and sword far outdamage TK against med and heavy AR opponents.
trick to soloing "THE GAME"? intimidate, buffs, and nice armor. thats it.

I was with some guys that would ride by a krayt on their speeders and then get the krayt to chase them to some kind of extractor, not sure what kind, and they would get the krayt stuck. It would be on one side of the structure trying to run forwadr and they would be on the other side of the structure tagging it for all they were worth.
This of course was a ranged weapon tactic and the main damage dealer was a Commando burninating the country side, and the peasants, and the thatch roofed cottages.

I've been master swords, tka, and now currently 4-3-3-4 pike & master brawler. As far as tanking krayts goes out of those 3 i've had better luck with pikeman. Still hate those dizzy/kd's though. uuuugh.

Having mastered every melee profession (TK twice =), my summary:
TK:
has the most "extras" (meditate, pboost, fow) and the best standard defenses (MD & RD)
has lousy damage output compared to sword or pike
unarmed toughness of 57 at TKM
Fencer:
has a good variety of weapons and damage types
best state defenses and decent
moderate damage output (bleeds used to be worth something)
Swordsman:
excellent damage output with decent variety of damage types (including blast)
poor defenses (haven't played since counterattack was supposedly fixed)
good targeted pool attack and decent AE attack
Pikeman (currently Mpike):
solid, but not exceptional damage with a sub average variety of damage types (kinetic + electric)
ok defenses
good AE attacks with state effects (AE kd/dizzy anyone?)
Pike is a good profession, but definately needs some backup skills like doc or TKA. I'm currently master rifle/pikeman/4004 TK and there's really very little that I can't take 1v1 with buffs. low- to mid-level content falls like I'm mowing the fields (it still irritates me that I can't get the 6 ST missions solo, because the 3 ST ones take about 1 minute to complete), but real high level content (dragons, NSs, etc) definately smack me down if I don't have support.
