Thread: New pike'r advice??

i am new to pikes (i just started it actually) i am currently a TKM, Master Brawler, Master Swords and the melee speed and acc. tree in FS. i really enjoy pvp'n as a speed capped Swordsmen and was lookin for advice on pikes in pvp DOT and non-DOT im goin to drop TKM to learn pikes and my speed will be 92 so ill be capped with most weapons. any overall imput into pikes would be awesome

hey man thanks and ya prolly did train me lol ill let ya kno if i ever need anything....right now i got a so-so mind fire lance str=74 and i got a mind posion at 175 =str i think...i also got an action fire at srt=190 but the pot-12% so that sucks but i also got a few action posions over 200=str...so ya think i should be bustin out the action DOTs? and thanks again for the post!!!!!

Use those Action DOTS, on GDKs with your action hit 2 special. YOu wiull have the cash in no time (from selling the scales) to buy nice high damage pikes. I suggest you finish getting speed and acc capped, pikeman speed really hurts us, since we are so slow. Welcome to the fray, I promise you, once ya get a taste of maste rPikeman, you will never want to be anythign else.

Ha. Didnt I train you the other night? anyways...pike is the most fun melee class IMO. It can be the most expensive or at least time consuming though to get a proper collection. W/O dots to help in pvp. I find it not very effective. Our best hit is a posture change(HIt3) and because of that will pop a KD'd opponent up to standing and our leg hits all but broken since they do so little damage. The damage range of pikes is pretty wide min/max so melee mitigation really hurts. With even decent dots its a whole different story, pike can be very effective. Our area attacks and kd's are very nice partly due to the fact that we have such a great range(about 14m radius).
My advice is to find a fire pike and a poison pike of the same pool as well as a nice high dmg LVA(700+) then go to work.

Hehe welcome to the coolest profession. until you get speed capped fgind a fast pike ie ... 2.5- 3 600 max. also despite what someone else here sais leg hit 3 is sometimes our best move. it does not spread out like hit3. I have beaten jedi sith thugs and more spamming leg 3. test the moves yourselkf and make your own choices.

Yeah money and weapons will never be a problem, as long as you have some Medic, just go to dath and start killing Nightsisters once you master pike, area2 will destroy the groups of NS with a good dmg sliced LVA (unitl you loot a good one) and then go to the sword to kill the elders. Before long you will have good loot to use and sell. I would recommend getting the extra +3 to speed though to be fully capped, some good looted weapons are really slow and capped speed is just to nice when you're swinging an 800+ dmg LVA. If you got any questions or wanna do some pike hunting send me a tell I usually hunt NS at least one buff a day just to see what I can find.
