Can someone explain to me what the difference is between the spin attack and area attack?

I'm not too sure. I think spin attack rarely dizzies (if ever) while area attack has a pretty high chance of stunning and/or dizzying the multi-targets.

spin is more damaging, area has state attacks (ie dizzy, stun)

is spin still more damaging? I thought that was changed. I never use spin2, always area2.

area 2 all the way.........2 states, higher speed, and higher damage, and i mean, with an animation like that, who wouldnt pick it?

See for yourself.

Spin is actually less damaging and only dizzies, whereas area both dizzies and stuns. Spin2 is useless once you have area2.

Edit: Spin1, on the other hand, has higher DPS than any of them.

Must have missed when spin2 was decreased in dmg, oh well, AOE2 is definately a better special to use reguardless.

good move would be Area 2 Sweep 2? dizzy knockdown? Does this work.?

That's what it ends up as yes, a nice little dizzy+KD move that's pretty effective against other players so long as they're not defense stackers.

I have always had better luck with damage and the dizzy state with Area. I use sweeps, then Area to keep em dizzied. Works almost every time. Takes a bit to get the ham down, but as long as they are on their backs dizzied, it is no problem.
