Thread: Master Pike, now wich FS tree?

Hey fellow pikeys!
I was wondering.
Mastered Pike 2 weeks ago and now theres several paths to be chosen from!
Since I dont feel like grinding out master Brawler at this moment and felt like a more "storyline"- way to growth, i ended up getting glowy yesterday.
Waiting for the old bugger at the moment and knowing that most people go for the melee-speed tree first; would it be unwise to follow the defense/reflexes tree? Im a master but still feel kind of weak, getting knocked down by nightsissies and finding it hard to take on higher then nightsister rangers. Will FS-defense bea good addition to be a better tank, solo-PVE'er? (I dont care much for PVP-yet).
And on a 2nd note: I know this isnt the auction forum, but who has an old 600+ damage LVA or VL in his cupboard?
Just cant seem to find the right one at vendors or in loot.

I would go the melee speed line first.Your speed is very important and the 4 sp for +12 speed helps immensly. With faster speed you kill things faster so you will gain xp faster. But this is just my opinion.

Good argument.
Any other comments? Or is speed the smartest way to go?

ok, thats clear then, speed it is!
Now, i entered the village last night ran around enchanted by the mysterious environment, started talking to some npc's.
But, the whole stuff of Phases and quests I dont understand but i got it filtered two 2 some questions:
(I know i should be on the FS forums, but I read the guide and Pikeys do want same trees, thats y I ask here)
I took Whips' quest wich is, obviously, not the one I need. failed it, cuz for some reason i couldnt heal myself anymore (but that's another issue: I dont have the ability to heal actionself??? I used to, dunno what went wrong there-)
Tonight I'll be going back try again.
Anyway, to the point:
Do I understand things right when i state that:
-Theres 4 NPC's in the current phase 1(and a trainer), wich supply a quest for each tree.
-I can do all four of these quests in this phase.
-I took Whips quest (i believe he's from senses-) and now I have to finish that before I can go look for the guy who has the Melee Speed quest. (So I cant cancel on him).
-When I finish the quest I like (combat prowess, melee speed), I can go up the entire tree in the current phase.
OK, answering with a simple yes/no will do, since im bothering u with noobish questions on another topic (more or less-). If u feel like sharing, please do. Its all pretty unclear for me now, despite of the guide.
I get the general idea but the concept on how to achieve things in the most effective way is unclear for the Force Noob

is it really necessary to pick up all 4 of the speed boxes, or are you allready speedcapped with let's say half way up?
what about mixing skill tapes and fs melee speed?

In the long run it's up to you. However going from 75 to 87 speed is a big difference. After that you would only need +8 AA or CA and you will be speed capped. If you already have skill tapes to help bring your speed up then you could only go half way up the line if thats all the speed points you need.
