You can tell because it usually says (Exceptional) or (Legendary) in the name if it's a looted weapon.

an item is exceptional is if has either 1) awesome damage 2) uber dot or both, or if your really lucky like me u get 3) low ham or 4)+25 broken mod

What makes an item exceptional or legendary? How can you tell?

no, this guy is wrong, by SWG game standards an exceptional weapon is exactly Starwars kid said

+25 to a broken mod is easy to get w/o special loot

I got an exceptional locked container once

wasnt anything specila about it and all it had was an unmodded 1/300 condition warm hat
