Hi,

I'm just curious about the defences to a pikeman. I hear some say that pikemen have the best defences in the game, is this true or not? If it is, what makes it so special?

This thread has all the answers.

In short, we have decent state defenses, but that's normally irrelevant since they can be boosted via attachments or other professions. The most important defensive stat by far(imo) is toughness, which we get royally screwed on.

Absolutely not the best defenses, but one of the worst. Lowest toughness, which is a huge factor, second lowest melee/ranged defenses, and our secondary defense - block - allows 50% of the damage to pass through, unlike dodge and counterattack which prevent 100% of the damage from getting through. With all that added together, Pikeman is currently the worst defensive melee profession.

Who says pike has the best defenses?

Thanks for the replies

If the defence for the pikeman-profession is so bad, wouldn't it be nice if the Devs did

something with this profession? Or are there any sides of the story I don't see?

Devs can mean Developers but it can also be the slang word for Devils lol
