Thread: Pikeman or TKA?

I'm currently a TKM/Master Rifleman with a little medic and scout. I'm considering dropping TKM for Pikeman and keeping rifleman though. This template is mainly for PvP. If anyone has any opinions on which is a better PvP template, please feel free to post here.

In pvp it's been my personal opinion that TKM damage gets the worse end of the mitigation stick than Pikeman does, hands down. At least we have medium armor piercing and the option to switch to Electricity or Energy.. and we get considerably higher damage to start with too.
TKM has good defenses and meditate.. I can't think of any other reason to take it over Pikeman than that.

You may want to keep the unarmed 4 line in brawler when getting pikeman. The CUis going to make serious changes and unarmed 4 will be required for pikeman.

im working on rifleman/Mpikeman right now and so far i like it
2/0/0/4 going for master, and my block is already capped for free !
im gonna be able to get +10 rifle speed for only like 3 mil. . . all thats left to do is grind out to master and get a good DRX6b/Jawa/T21 and i will be ready for anything
only good thing about TKM is
1. Mind targeting attacks
2. MEDITATE!
3. Good DPS at master VS low end PvE
4. Defenses much higher VS Pikeman

one other reason why you may want to keep tka is the much better toughness. but if you don't mind getting hit for more but dealing out loads of damage with dots or whatever then pick up pikes by all means.

tkm if you dont have dots tkm has best toughness on the game and can actully damage people wearing armour
but if you have dots its a different storie

yeah, i would suggest going TKM if you dont like dots or dont really want to use them, hopefully in the CU they will change this

doing this double post to hit 500 posts cuz i feel like it ^_^....i will also add though, a skilled pikeman can beat a tkm without dots too, it just takes some time and takes a bit of creative food use....since i have started to use different foods (right around the time i dropped chef :-/) i have seen that they make a big difference. Many times, the types of foods you use can make or break a close fight

TKM hardly does any damage, but has nice knockdowns and states, they have nice defenses and meditate.
Pikeman does fair damage, has excellent stating and crowd control abilities/knockdowns, poor defense, MIND FIRE PIKES
IMO, pikeman is best of the 2. damage you take can be mitigated by buffs and healing, but damage you dois where it counts.

I was
BH 4000 - TKM - Scout 4000 - Master Marksman - Medic 1040
I dropped BH and down to 4004 Marksman (plan on mastering rifles too)and am dropping TKM as I need to so I can master Pikes. Sure with TKM I can sit and pound on a Ancient Krayt till my buffs run out but that is no fun at all, I can do that with asimple macro, there is no thought involved. I changed over to pikes so I would have to be thinking about what I am doing, how many I am up against, what foods to useand what DoTs to use. So far I am having a blast.

but you come across 1 of the billion jedi pvpin and your on your arse in secs if not backed up with stacking temp
