Thread: High-powered vibromotors in an LVA

I looted three identical high-powered vibromotors from a Nym's NPC last night. These each give +20 to max damage for an item that uses a vibromotor, and typically, they're used in making a good pair of vibroknucklers for TKA. However, if I were to loot *4* identical ones in the future, would it be possible for me to have a good weaponsmith craft me an LVA that used these looted enhancements? I'd need four because the LVA requires three identical vibro blade units from a factory crate, so one would have to be used to make a schematic for the vibro blade unit, then the other threee enhancments go into the final components.
Would I get +60 to max damage as an overall bonus with the three enhancements, then? That seems like a good way to craft a nice LVA. Even better if you can use three of the vibro blade units from Jabba's Palace, but I got bile-soaked rancor teeth, instead.

If I remember right they don't stack so it would only give you a +20 but yes you can, I made one for myself last night with some +26 vibromotors but I can't remember the stats off hand.

That's a shame the bonuses don't stack. A +60 max damage LVA would be pretty nice, particularly if you could get that rare 35% damage slice on top of that. 
That would put you around 600-620 max for a crafted LVA, which is about as good as you can get.
Oh well. If I could do it, +20 is nice, too. I'll probably just sell the three motors I got for the credits, though.

Useful post, but some questions rise:
1.) Nym's u say, meaning all the npc's on Lok that have something with "Nym's" in front of their profession can drop motors?
2.) Jabbas palace, u get those from the quest or you start hacking away those green piggies?
3.) Can one "upgrade" his pike with a new set of motors?

1. Any Nym NPC (including Droidekas) can drop them.
2. Only from the Jabba TP
3. No, it is part of the crafting process.

I don't remember what Nym's NPC gave it to me, honestly. On the TKA forum, the reigning theory is that Nym's Elite Guards seem to be the best for drops, and droidekas sometimes drop fully assembled VK's with DOT damage. Best way to hunt Nym's NPCs are to get in a group (or solo group) and take missions to hunt Nym's Elite Guards. Last night I was killing Elite Guards, Pirates, Brawlers, etc, but all were on the way to the Canyon Corsair Stronghold.
To add a bit to question 3, though, there are powerups that can got on LVA to increase damage for a given number of uses, but nothing permanent short of a damage slice.

Ok let me clear my post up with the correct wording.
There are 3 types of Vibro Motors
High Frequency Vibro Motor
Found On: Nym NPCs, Droideka
Location: Lok
Enhances:+5 (to +8) to Wound Chance
Fine Tuned Vibro Motor
Found On: Any NPCs
Location: Anywhere
Enhances: -0.2 to Speed
High Powered Vibro Motor Found On: Nym NPCs, Droideka
Location: Lok
Enhances: +20 to Max Damage
Vibromotors are enhancement components for vibro blade units (and advanced vibro blade units)and are used during the crafting process. These vibro blade units are used in vibroknucklers, vibroblades, vibroaxes, vibrolances, long vibro axes, and lances.
Long Vibro Axe - Require 3 Identical Vibro Blade Units (4 Identical Looted Vibro Motors)
Vibrolance - Require2 Identical Vibro Blade Units (3 Identical Looted Vibro Motors)Lance - Require 1 Vibro Blade Unit (1 LootedVibro Motor)
The only enhancements that you can use after the crafting process is over on melee weaopns are melee powerups (pup's). Pup's are limited use enhancements to the stats of a weapon. When buying pup's look close becuase one may not enhace the same stats as the next, some may enhance max damage but raise mind costs, while another will enhance the range stats and increase min damage, etc, etc.

I've dumped more than my share of high powered motors into LVAs and VLs and generally speaking it's just not worth the effort. +20 isn't a lot on an LVA.
Unless you get a 30% or higher damage slice, you won't do more damage than a 35% damage-sliced normal LVA. It's a LOT easier to get your hands on a normal LVA with a 35% damage slice than it is to gather enough motors to make LVAs until you get that perfect slice.
If I recall correctly, the lightweight motors from Jabba's park aren't any significant improvement over normal motors either.
Frankly, our loot options just suck.

That is correct, with a VK an extra 20 damage points is a big deal but not with an LVA.

i say use them in a vk,
get 1 or more sliced with 30+ % dmg slice
if its 215+ dmg can go from 500k to 2m
lets say just 1 got nice dmg slice to 220, you sold it for 1.3m
well now you have money to buy a 650+ lva

Me and a friend were checking it out and if you dropped some decent NS motors into an LVA and got a good slice you could potentially have a player made 800 max LVA.

I looted a high powered one from a tusken some weeks ago (just one, and just once-)
When you talk decent NS motors, you mean the ones that axkva drops?
