Thread: So what should our unique ability be?

The TKA has some cool unique abilities that I think adds a lot of flavor and definition to the class. I really think all the melee classes need something to set them apart as it were. But what should we as pikeman get?


Some ideas I like are attacks that slow an enemy down example: toe stab 1 cut enemy movement speed by 20 percent for 10 seconds, Toe stab 2 cut enemy movement by 30 percent for 20 seconds, and last but not least toe stab 3 but enemy movement by 50 percent for 30 seconds (this should be given to you at master).


Area attacks that kd, bleed, and other cool things. I like the idea of us being the gods of crowd control in melee. So to do that we would need area attacks that make it work that way. The problem with this is area attacks that are worth doing would make us very cool in pvp and start the nerf cries (think group tefing here to understand what would start the nerf cries). The last thing I want to do is get buffed for a week and then nerfed tognortness again. I like the idea of us being the kings of crowd control but I am having a hard time thinking of ways to put it in game without unbalancing things.


Another idea I thought up was this make us the kings of KD. Reduce our timer as you progress in the class. The glitch with carbineers charge shot shows that they can bypass the kd timer. Give us bonus's to kd so we can kd peeps with high kd resist. Kd is very well placed with polearms but kd is aslo very powerful so enhancing it would be very hard to balance.


Those are the ones I can think of anyone else have any ideas or further thoughts on mine?

Yep, I think an area KD would be great!, along with area bleeds...we have been told we are the Carbiner of melee, and the devs refer to carbiners as "crowd control". Good stuff...I like the slow a Mob down hit to..

My top choices are:

Area Bleed

Area Dizzy that sticks

also something really good for pvp duels. maybe something like a innate ability to ignore one's defense that could increase in offensive line to make it worthwhile. this could help counter balance our unintentional nerfing with Mitigation.

How about something like the unarmed (polearm for us)damage mod that TKA get so our minium isnt so low and we dont get hit so hard? I think this is a moot point though cause they are going to revamp all weapons soon.

How about a drop kick for a stun attack?
Charge the enemy, place the polearm to the ground, jump and kick. Nocking the enemy to the ground.

How about a pierce attack?
An attack that can get past the armor of the enemy.

Yah, I would LOVE to see an areaattack that could be feared.. It should have the ability to bleed, KD, dizzie and intimidate, and PikeMen should get WarCry to work in a circle area of effect rather then the cone we al got now.. some MODs of previous skills for the better while we climb the threee would be nice, some sort of synergies(if that makes any sense).


But for the love of God, we should be able to take a beating if they intend to make use God of areaattacks

so i was watching the matrix reloaded the other day and the scene with neo and his "polearm" fighing the 100+ agent smiths came on. Now i dont advocate trying to be as powerful as neo was in that scene, but it can be used as an example for the crowd control abilitys, and the block, hit, sweep, ect... manuvers that can be used in the pikeman tree. There is a lot of cool pikeman stuff in that scene that i would love to see implimented.

It may have been said before but how about area bleed and area target action attacks? The bleeds have been said before but I havent seen the area action attack sugested. I sort of like the idea of bleed you all then hit all you in the leg.
