Thread: Need Advice Please.

Ok im planning for Master Medic,Master Doctor,Master Pikeman.
My question is,is Pikeman really good at PvE? from what i have read from these boards so far,it seems that Pikeman are weak.
Could be that im using the search function too much and getting old news from a year ago grr.
Right now im 0/0/0/4 in Brawler almost to novice pikeman,So far it seems i miss alot and its getting annoying.I like the Polearm weapons but if i am always going to miss most of the time i may decide on a different weapon class.
So my final question is,is there light at the end of the tunnel? Should i work my way to Master Pikeman?
Please help.

HeHe np. Im not holo grinding,the weapon i choose will be what i use for the characters life. On my other character I have Master Artisan,Novice Atchitect,Novice Merchant,according to one of those holo's it says i need to master Armorsmith,well im not going to,i very much dislike armorsmith so i wont be doing it. Honestly i dont think ill have a Jedi on my accounts,i mean for example i hear that you can lose a skill that takes ya 2 weeks to get,this would really make me get extreamly mad so to keep my self from putting my fist thru the monitor i will not be getting Jedi at all,i mean never.
ok back to my original question,from what i am hearing from you,Pikeman will not be the Best PvE? i dont ever plan to do PvP at all,i really dont like PvP so that will never happen,(yes i know i am a carebear and proud of it lol). So over all what should i get? Sword? Right now im using Ubease Armor dont think ill get composite till it goes from 400k to like 100k.
If i homestly had to drop Doctor i would get Master Medic,Master what ever melee,Master Rifleman.But right now i want to try and keep Master Doctor as part of my goal.This character started as a medic and decided to pick up a weapon.

I would say that Pikeman is a very strong PvE profession. The accuracy bonuses in the combat exp tree go a long ways to eliminating those misses. With just standard armor and weapons using buffs and brandy I can take most any mob I have found under 50k HAM. We can also take out large groups of mobs providing they aren't too hard hitting. The Geonosian cave is a good example. I can clear a room with seven or eight 12K HAM mobs in very short order using Sweep2 and AreaAttack2 and maybe need a stim C afterwards to patch me up before heading to the mercenary room to clear it while I wait for the Geo's to respawn. TKM's are definitely faster damage to a single creature but my TKM friend is hard pressed to clear the same spots I can do easily. Fencer and Heavy Swordsman seem to be a mix of the two with each leaning slightly in one direction or the other. Incidentally I am also going the Master Pikeman, Medic, Doctor route and like it so far.

ok man ill try and help. im also workin on master pikeman right now (im 4-1-2-4) but do not plan to keep it just grindin through it all. yeah im a holo grindin freak. anyways ive done all the brawler professions and the ones i noticed were good at pve were tka of course and is also good at pvp fencer also is decent at both types but in my opinion master swordsman is by far the best at pve(take note not very good at pvp) the spin attacks are awesome i could easilysolo anything i wanted on dath. a few examples for ya--(u should have good armor and goodbuffs ) ----i soloed the rancor valley with ease taking on 4 or 5 at once i also mastered this prof in 2 days cause the exp comes in so fast mostly cause u are killing several things at once
--take no missions and just run around dath killin everything u see
--take on lairs and hit them until u have a good sized mob around u then use the spin attacks
--use a power hammer
if u do all these things u can easily play for 5 or so hours i think it was and bring in 2million in exp EASILY
anyways this is my opinion and a lot more sorry about goin off about swordsman and good luck to you

Cool then i think ill stick to my goal of Master Medic,Master Doc,Master Pikeman. So far it seems fun, i just hit Novice Pikeman and got a Vibro Lance,havent tried it yet but i hear its better than the Long Vibro Axe but i may keep the axe incase i need it.

forgot to ask,now that i am Novice Pikeman what should i work on first in the Novice Pikeman trees?

From everything I've heard, work on the Bookends then fill in the middle. I'm 4/4/0/4 so far. While we're on the subject of help though... Can someone explain the differences, and assorted advantages/drawbacks to Spin2 and AoE2?

Oh yeah and as for the advice above
First and foremost, ignore the part about getting a powerhammer. Its not even a pike.
I have a Doctor buff me, and then he comes out hunting with me. I'd advise getting doctor buffs, and then have a medic come with you, so you can not wear armor. Doc buffs take care of MOST of the regen you need, but having the medic with you is still necessary if you skip the armor, and Using the AE Spins WILL ruin your armor fast.
