Thread: can just a straight master pike. hold his own?

Hi I have a alt that is a master Art.,Master Ship. and master pike..
Im mainly a crafter with her but took the pike because i have allways thought of them a cool..
and i wanted something to defend my self with,,I went out to do some singel person imp kills agianst same level people and got me butt kicked each time.
what is the best way for a straight pikeman to play?
I rember way back all my friends were pikemen and nothing could stand up to them very well,need a little combat help if you can spair it.
Oh I used a repec to get pike thats why im clueless,was a Master doc,Master Bio

Solo, its going to be a problem. Pretty much all melee needs some type of healing to be effective. You might be able to get by with some food to reduce damage taken and 1k+ stims.
Next, is weapon. As a new pikeman you may not know this, but crafted weapons are crap. What you want to use is Pre-CU Looted (not crafted) Vibro lances that converted to at least 900 damage, close 1100 is uber. Or if you got a lot of time, some combat friends, and are a great pilot, or have aces to help you, you can get the Kamoin (sp) Great Staff. Best staff in the game, the quest is very long, and the hardest in game IMO. Or if thats not your thing, you can try to buy Posionspike (necrosis loot) or get the Bladestick. They are decent, but nothing special. DO NOT buy the bladestick, its a pretty easy quest, you may just need help to kill 1 guy, as you don't have healing or ICOB. And on my server at least, they usally go for over a million.
As for attacks, you should be using Impale as your default, Leghit as your 2ed attack, then sweep, for KD's, and finally Armor Break, for breaking armor.

impale as default. . i'll have to try that, i really like that idea
