Thread: Strategy for Mounted Pikemen Knights?

All right, I did some research about using those mounts to our best advandtage... here's what I found.

If you are on a mount, you don't get any specials, and you can't heal. This is a Bad Thing. Yet I have fought for hours on end and I notice that nearly every mob I encounter DOES NOT use their special (blind, dizzy, poison, etc.) attacks while I am mounted.

So here's a good strategy for those like me who want to be the old fashioned "Knights."

Slap on as much armor (mine is 80% kinetic resist) as you can, hop on the mount, and ride into battle with CoB activated. Since you won't be using special attacks (you CAN'T) you will be relying on your primary stats and your basic attack. With CoB you end up dodging many of the attacks, and if it DOES hit you the armor (in my case) absorbs most of the damage. As a bonus, if you are getting low on health, you can run away or use /gallop to get even farther away. I have found this mounted strategy to be very useful in hunting and on PvE battlefields... give it a try and see how it works for you.

NOTE: This strategy WILL NOT work in PvP. One weakness of mounts is that if you are hit by a lunge-type attack, you are DISMOUNTED and vulnreable. So... don't try to charge a BH, it ain't workin.
