Did I spell that right? Oh well, I was messing around on Dat killing Lesser Plain Bols when I un-equip my armor and accidentally attacked one. To my astonishment I hit MUCH more often then without armor. I tested this for about an hour and all I can say is this; I value clothing more than armor now.
