Thread: lil help with a decision plz :)

hey ppl. i've been wondering what to make for my secondary class and have singled it down to smuggler, chef, or doc. spice/food buffs/doc buffs are something i need. based on you guys' experiences which of the three work the best. i think the up side to spice or food buffs is that they can be done anywhere and dont need a med droid/center, but doc buffs are morepowerfull and last longer. anyways im a novice doc already and not sure if i wanna keep it or not, but i AM gonna keep some medic cuz stims rock.

I tried CH/master medic as a secondary combination and then switched over to master doc, dropping CH and most scouting for a final template of master pikeman, master doctor, novice scout and exploration I. I have loved being able to buff myself, and migrated all of my stats so that most are in mind and I pretty much HAVE to fight buffed, but it has made a huge, huge difference in what I can fight. I like it much better than the CH/pike combination because I would rather rely on myself and my buffs, and I just wasn't meant to be creature handler, I guess, I kept seeing pets as an annoying yet necessary tank. If you do have the interest to work on master doctor I would say it is well worth it. Although my migrated stats make it hard to fight unbuffed, when I fight buffed I do very well PvE. I'm not a PvP player, really, but when I do I go down from mind wounds, accuracy problems, and kiting, and I don't see a good way any buffs could help much with those.



I have to admit I don't know much about food buffs, I dislike the shorter duration and the fact that they currently bug doctor buffs (or vice versa if you prefer to look at it that way). Spice downers are annoying, but the pistol aspect of smuggler could be very useful.



The biggest problem with doctor, for me, is that a lot of time goes into med crafting and when hunting with guildmates I have to balance my roles as healer and damage dealer/tank. I would assume that just as much time, effort, and resources go into spice and food crafting though.

I am a smuggler, I look at it like this, a quick buff from spice and a discount at faction vendors and I am very happy. I use doc buffs when I want to go on big hunts but other than that the spices I make do just fine for the 10 minutes they last, that is easily one or two lairs depending of course on what lair it is. If I had the patience to be a doc...I probably would though, and since you are already mostly there...keep with that.

Yes, I'm lookin for master carb and master pike. I'm a HAM disaster. Naw but seriously, when I go with major hunts I just pace myself and rely on the uber reaction time of our doctor. When I solo, the carb eliminates the annoying kite, plus I can back outta the fight and pull out the carb when needed with the TK taking over main tank.


Doesn't work for everyone but works ok for me.
