this weekend i tried out mpike/tkm/swords 0030/ medic 0220. had +25 healing eff clothes and +40 healing eff food. nice template. love the armor break. but the healing is not enough for high end pve.had to use ruby and stims as well, and i cannot justify filling my belly with ruby when there are a lot more beneficial food buffs that i like to use. i could take on gdk, krayts, and necros guards. I couldnt heal fast enough for necro (switching between stims, bacta shot, and an enhanced bacta toss). dwb was a joke without improved infusion, and the blackscale compund? forget it. even the avatar was a lot tougher than it had to be.
gonna switch back, but im gonna miss the adv armor break.

I only read this thread yesterday, before I read the thread I was thinking of droping Fencer x4x4 and TkA x1xx to go Doc 2xxx for some healing! Was almost decided and VERY unhappy about loosing Improved COB and all the def bonuses from the unarmed and tk tree.
Then I saw this post, and thought WHAT A GREAT IDEA!! I need some healing.. with my Temp as it was Yesterday, tka x1xx, Fencer x4x4 mswords/mpike i was relying ONLY on stims! What a hassle that is!
I swaped templates.... and setup my skills bar again... and OMG I LOVE THIS TEMPLATE..... I never would have though of going medic x24x for the healing.... Im healing for 900+ with Bacta Toss and 650+ Bacta Shot.
If you want to keep tka x1xx which is HIGHLY recomended.... and have your two master melee profs... this is a GREAT template!! I Owned last night in a pvp battle with a guildie... Now that I can heal... I AM UNSTOPABLE lol

been experimenting with diff doc branches.
doc 4000 really good fir high end pve
doc 2002 awesome pvp template
doc 0040 is the CM killer (my personal fav atm)
doc 0022 pretty good all around for heals, buffs, and cures

How would Mpikemn/Mswordsman/4xxx doc and other 4 sp in fs speed?
Or is TKM so important. I am currently Mpike/TKM/novice doc/4444 brawler and im not liking having crappy offense.

If you guys are not useing TKM for the inate armor. What armor do you guys like ? How about your choice of weapon ?
Right now i am Master Pikeman, TKM, Master Brawler, Novice fencer, xx44 sword. I do not like this temp, and will be changeing it. I think i will be droping the TKM for sure, but still working it out

Your best (and only) bet to go is Battle Armor. I bought a set of RIS that is decent: 6k Kin and Energy, 5.3k Elemental. With my AB slice its pretty good in PvP, but PvE high end NPCs can "over-ride" that Armor Break slice. I have to get it repaired too cause Mustafar has done a number on it. I'll just use my Marauder armor for PvE. Anyway go battle your only choice. Innate armor is best for TKM because it enhances your miss/dodge mods from what I understand along with 5k all resists. That with COB is pretty nice.
I've been experimenting for a good Pikeman PvP template. I really HATE how you have to take doc or CM to be any good in PvP. I don't thinking (unlessyou find good CAs and AAs) that it is possible to survive in PvP with Stims and medic x44x alone. I have come to the conclusion that even after CU, Pikeman is still unbalanced. High end Action costs, no better then average def mods, normal COB sucks, crappy dmg without AB, and low speed/accuracy. Intimidate is nice, but I think Warcry is glitched for PvP or the description is wrong.
Anyway to get to my point, I found one temp that looks good on paper but I haven't christened it yet in PvP.The temp is MPikes/MBrawler/Swords4x3x/TKA 21xx. It has pretty good Defense along with COB and PB but two MAJORflaws in it.First being your only lvl 70, so dueling is much harder. Secondis your accuracymods SUCK (speed is allrightwith MBrawler). I am trying to find SOME way to increase them without speed crap loads on CAs and AAs. Damnit,what I really need is an Obsidian Lance

i dont think thats possible. but i may be wrong of coarse
heres the template i had in mind (prob for PVE but maybe a little pvp)
mpikes/tka 0100/doc 40004/swords 0030/mbrawler/and 4 points for FS
would that be level 80?
would it be good?

so far my temp is mdoc, mpike, swords 0031 and its not bad, haven't tried too much pvp, but am going to give it a try this week. anyone have any input or suggestions on this temp? i know it doesn't have improve cob, but i figure with the great healing it makes up for it. anyways anyone else try this temp? let me know

Now that one of the templates I wanted to do is complete (Master BH, Master CH) I want to start experimenting with another character, and of the melee professions, Pikeman is the only one that really interested me. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's the allure of playing one of the least used combat professions, combined with a bit of personal facination with staff/pike weapons.

i chose pikeman for one reason..it looked cool. also, ive always tended to have the same pattern whenever i play a new game. i find the least used or least effective template/profession, and try to make it good.

Template question from someone who's planning on creating a new toon and going Pikes: Am I going to need offensive help from another melee profession to handle CL80 MOBs? My original plan was to go MPikes, MRanger (post-Ranger revamp, used Squad Leader as a filler for point cost), then fill the extra with Medic 0-0-2-0. I'm confortable with the defensive capabilities from this template, but wonder about offense. Assuming that Ranger doesn't add significantly to my offensive damage (just traps and such) am I going to deal enough damage outside of a group, or should I be considering a more traditional Pikeman template along the lines of what others have mentioned in this thread.
