I agree that since pikeman take JUST as many skillpoints as TKA (not to mention weDONT get the option of smuggler/commando etc above the pikeman tree in brawler hmph) you should make us just as deadly if not a bit more than TKA in PVP. How is it fair that they could already be on their way to commando for juts being their meele class, as well as more powerful than us when we should have the range/damage over them easily.



Other than that, i do find that unless im wearing composite armor and laying off the ham's i pretty much die instantly, if you could make it so i dont need atleast much more than a ligh encumbrance armor while still being able to use HAM move, it would be greatly appreciated.


Actually, i quit pikeman but if you fix the issues so they are fair again you can count me in again as a fellow pikeman!

I've noticed something, but I don't know if it's a bug, or if this is how it is supposed to work.


When I hit a mob (regular attack, armor piercing, armor on mob, etc, doesn't matter) the print out tells me I hit him for XX damage, but if I look at the numbers on the mob, the amount of damage I've done don't add up to nearly the XX damage the server says I did.


Is it supposed to be like that?

ive used my novice pikemen in a fight 4 VS 1 TKA


i was the only brawler all other marksman (pistoleer , rifleman , etc...)


the TKA runned all around in his armor trying to knockdown everyone he could


catched me (cause i stopped so i stand and could hit jim cause you need at least 1 second before you do after you moved)


he catched me , knockdown before he end running ... done with me im dead ... happenned to every other


Ham cost too much ,i always kill me trying to hit something


Pikemen attack seams to love the action pool.. could we get a bleed for that or something for the mind too since everyone run from us with stimpack shooting our mind off !!!



and i add my voice to all other for the Ham - range - defense (what a joke, since what i cannot kill in one shot, i better run to heal or tank with a pet ...) - accuracy

The damage that floats over yours and monsters heads (labeled by some as "floaty damage") is adjusted damage. If you hit a monster for 100 damage and he is 75% efficient against Kinetic, his floaty damage will read -25.



Also, if you are wearing armor, and a monster hits you for a certain amount, and your armor absorbs a certain amount of it, the adjusted damage is what rises above your head. with PC's though, I don't know how special protection and efficiency works into the equation.

I have been TKM since start.
After looting my first holo it whispered go "**edit**".
Now I made my Master Pike in one week ( 2 Huurton
stalker lairs on dantoo = 70.000 xp each 30 minutes).
and expected an totally broken class.
But I can solo force sensitives with 80% resists
against all easily. Sure I use my Master
Doc buffs and Dancer Buffs if I find someone.

THANK YOU! I couldn't have said it better myself! And to piggyback on that....IF I hit with a KD how can I miss on the next attack when that 2 ton target is lying on the ground as I always seem to do?


The to-hit modifier needs to be dynamic. In well rounded RPG rules the to-hit modifiers are based on the size and posture of the target. We already talked about size but to elaborate on posture, If I am swinging at a pistoleer on his knees or prone, I should have a much better chance to hit as opposed to the target being in a standing position. Could we implement that for Pikeman devs? If the devs won't budge on the -50 to-hit, then another ideaon missing so many times in a row could be if the pikeman misses 2 times in a row then the next should be an automatic hit. I consider myself fairly patient with the growing process of this game but I have to admit when I am taking on several targets and my current target has but a tiny slice of HAM left and I miss 5 times in a row while being cut down I have let out some explatives that the neighbors have probably heard coming from the house.

my main problem with all melee is class definition - we need our nitch and we need to be the best at it( as with all melee classes). Otherwise whats the point (statistically) for some1 to start pikeman when the only class thats working is tka and they can do anything we can better faster and not even need a weapon to do it.


class definition would draw a line in the sand and all the time wouldnt be spend on people asking to have their weaknesses taken out if they knew them, and had their srtengths outlined the same way.


There wouldnt be "man im a swordsman why did a fencer kill me" posts every day - because the answer would be obvious - one on one is the fencer's strength (ect.).


Thats all - give us definition and well all see things much clearer.

4. only +4 to toughness is nuts


5. word from the grapevine (and you know just how accurate that can be don't you :smileyvery-happy is that all melee professions got a defensive boost but pikeman.

Just an idea for this. I don't know if anyone else has thought of this, but maybe some type of "meditation" where say while in battle you go into a defensive mode. You can not attack in this mode, but you block near every attack coming your way. As you increase in skill you gain chances (higher with more skill boxes) to counter attack. You could use this mode say when you really get in a mess and have 4+ guys on you. This fits inline with what a real pikeman is in the real world and would be a pikeman only skill.

Hello again I am a Master Pikeman on Kettlemoore have done nothing but pikes and polearms since i started.


1) We are slow.We use a huge weapon that well can't hit and kills us as fast as our target.


2) Our HAM cost's are so huge that i have to heal any time i use a special (any special).


3) Damage from a 6 foot long Axe should not be the same as from the fist of a humanoid. Oh and i want you to remember i am a Master Pikeman so don't try and say a Master TKA is more tunned to dealing damage because that is what he is trained for because i am trained to cut things in half not bruise them. Also remember ALL melee fighting skills fall from the Martial Arts.


I here alot of people talking about realism. Well think of it like this A"MASTER" Swordsman, Fencer, Pikeman could kill any Master non weapon wielding Martial artist.
