Thread: Armour vs counter-attack/evade/dodge/block mods, one or the other, both useful

Ive been a TK Master and I didn't evade or block very often. However, I didn't make it a habit to use CoB, so that might be the difference. With CoB on I evaded almost every strike at master level, but that takes a lot of HAM and doesn't last through a fight, so armour was needed anyway.


Your thoughts on tanks or damage dealers are much in the same line as my own, just through different means, because you've had different experiences as a pikeman. Realistically speaking, a well trained fighter without physical inhibitions can block or evade almost every incoming blow effectively, the only problem being that striking is made difficult when you use botharms to block an incoming kick you weren't quick enough to evade. You could use one arm or hand, but it might actually break.


Then again, realistic fights don't last 5 minutes either. The only fighting that lasts long is boxing, simply because you get to rest every 3 minutes and because you're not allowed to do much besides punch, and even that is limited to not include various means of doing so. While a boxer will put up a very good fight, it's a martial sport rather then a full art.
