Well I am @ +93 speed, but I seem to get more consistant hits with hit2, since hit3 attempts to change posture and can mess up your attacks. I use a 2.9 224-824 VL and 3.3 174-695 LVA and 4.7 110-409 VL.


What do you mean by "more consistant hits" and "mess up your attacks"? Sure, if you have an NPC dizzy and KD, using hit3 will mess it up, otherwise, though...

in pve, i use sweep/sweep2 to kd, then have a hit2 immediately after, and follow with a hit3. i get the damage bonus off the hit2 to come close to a hit3, strangely enough the sweep/hit2/hit3 seems to do a massive amount of damage on anything that went down on the sweep, using a 520 max lva (35% dam slice) at least. i've dropped the medium-ham NS (20k-50k) down to half or 2/3 ham in that combo with my 232-932 lva. I have no idea about use of that in PVP though, i stay away from it since my best DOT is only a 215 action poison.

yeah, Im a big PvPer on eclipse. I made a pikeman on a different server, being broke and all(I havent even got a full suit of comp and Im master pikeman) I havent really obtained any nice dot Pikes(One 204 pwr mind poison with like 12 uses) and its really annoying to use every skill I have and just get owned by the TKA spamming KD2 and hit 3. I centered, he didnt, I intimidated, he didnt, I stunned and dizzied, he didnt. I got hit 3 off once, yay he is kneeling, I use it again, yaya he is up. yay im dead.

I do fine in pvp with pike. The KD pop up is annoying though. Lately I have been using area2 for dizzy, then lunge2 for kd, the back to area that way I still do decent damage and dont pop them back up. If the are really close to dying I will smack them with hit3 or I will if they arent kd'd.


My latest test was against a master swordsman/master brawler. We fought with me using dots. I got owned pretty good. Then we fought with me only using one health poison 245 strength dot. Needless to say I won easily both those times. Warcry2 was nice..

area2 is actually more dps for a speed capped pikeman than hit2:

PvE Calculations

Weapon damage = 100 min / 400 max with AP2
Weapon speed = 6.5
Player speed modifer = +100
