Thread: Has anyone ever found Pikeman Useful in PVP?
i went to the imperial outpost tonight, and was wrecking house there with my group. i took on 2 riflemen and won at one point. i was using 80% kinetic armor with 70% to everything else but stun. i was also using my nightsister energy lance. not that its the best weapon i have, i just wanted to disease the heck out of them, and its also the most accurate high end polearm i have. i could use a wood staff, but really, how much damage would i do.
tka's were falling easy, especially with my armor. riflemen tried to kite me, but burst run works wonders. fencers tried to dodge me, but intimidate2 took that away. combat medics were dizzy'd/kd's before they could toss a single poison. bounty hunters, too easy to hit. no defense+melee modifyer=easy win for me. yeah, i say pikemen are doing a lot better these days. i was surprised none the less. i thought i was going to get my arse handed to me. but i did surprisingly well.
oh yeah, i also had all my stats buffed except for my mind secondaries, but 2 brandies helped with that.
I see a lot of "Down brandy" and "mind fire pike," but that stuff is expensive as heck! So hey... how about some tips to make the money that is necessary to purchase this stuff.
A crate of brandy is 300k. I don't have that much myself. Let's start there. ![]()

The key to having access to great goods and services is to be well connected, to be part of a guild that has a degree of economic power. As guild Resource Manager, I get my Brandy, my Moun, my armour and assorted accessories free, because I harvest resources like crazy, because those goods get made with resources that I have been digging out of the ground since launch. Anyone willing to do a little work can easily be of benefit to the crafters that need support and earn their keep.
Any Master Pikeman who has good equipment and about 20k for travel, insurance and medical costs can get themselves buffed and go to Dathomir and farm themselves a nice supply of PvP quality Pikes and LVAS, along with all sorts of good stuff. I wouldn't buy a looted pike for anything, seeing as they are so easy to get. At Master Pikeman, you should be able to solo small groups of Nightsisters comfortably. I have no medical skill and I often have to go get fresh buffs, as I am out there so long. Of course you can take high level missions while you look for Nightsisters and their mighty loot and make hundreds of thousands of credits that way, to keep yourself supplied.
You can sell or trade your lower quality lances, or stockpile them for a rainy day, but that is another outlet for cash, if you want to do that.

I've also heard of people with 50% stun resistance on their Composite Armour.
The maximum stun resistance possible is 45%. Thats 3 protection layers at 15% apiece. Great protection, but ungodly HAM cost. Generally, anything over 10% per layer is good. Getting 40%+ higher from a 3 layer helmet is fantastic.
If someone has a 80% energy and 30%+ stun helmet, I'll just switch to strafeshot2 and see how good the rest of your armor is ![]()
Pikemen do good in PvP they are just hard to do good with.
