. Additionally there were many paragraphs concerning melee in general. The second sentence did address accuracy:

"I don't like the negative ranges in the slightest bit. I'll see what I can get changed from the weapon crafting side to negate these modifiers. It will probably be on new weapons only." - Dan
So looks like they're planning on correcting the terrible accuracy, but you'll need to buy a new one. Also today Dan posted more:

So the new command I was describing will actually make your "active passive defensive moves" fire more often. What it will actually do is dramatically increase your saving throw roll for those types of moves for a duration. So a fencer will dodge, pikemen will counterattack and Teras Kasi will get one of each. Addition of this move doesn’t preclude a general increase of these defensive moves.
So it seems like a decent skill. If you got +20 counterattack or whatever, then use this skill this might get increased to like +40. Sounds similar to using berserk or intimidate, where you use a skill to initiate a state effect on yourself or the opponent for a period of time. This state then has a certain effect like +75 damage or x2 defense or whatever.

We are supposed to block, we don't counterattack.
