I'm guessing you are referring to mine... Sorry... Didn't realize anyone still used low resolutions... I shrunk it to 700 pixels wide, so it should be fine on all resolutions except 800x600... ^_^

Wellthose of uswho are using 1024x768 are having trouble with it as well.

Is it that much troubleto tone the damn thing down?

When hunting things that are strictly kinetic, I wear some of my 72% kinetic resist ubese. I can take a little food and my ham costs are 0. Even without food, the encumbrance is very low, so specials hurt like normal, but they're manageable. I can put a full suit of ubese on with, only one piece sliced for encumbrance, without buffs and still have some secondaries left.

if i dont have time for buffs like im in a city overt which is getting attacked, i just take some brandy, a weird action food and some pixie, to get my comp on and make my HAM a bit more, then i can get a off a few specials and poison the enemys

When I wear composite armor I noticed, if I am not buffed I kill myself using specials, hence I only wear composite if buffed (sigh).

What alternatives are there?

Don´t you guys have the same probs of ham costs? Its pretty annoying that you have to rely on buffs so much now (PvP and "highend" PVE (Geon Lab, Nightsister...)).

I wear a set of armor almost all the time now... Lately it's been a set of 85% Composite but I also have the standard 75% Ubese and a set of Stun Composite as well... I always get a buff when planning on doing any PvE or PvP...
