i miss SWG sometimes, the pikeman days of old were fun, back when Ramsey, Zarin and I were like the only masters on the rebel side....that was fun.

i am glad that ill be playing Guild Wars but I can say that Pikeman is by far one of the most interesting professions in swg when played right, it can actually combine with some professions you wouldnt think of offhand (IE: Commando)

its probably one of the best pve professions out there, and really has been for some time, most people were focused on getting the pvp edge the whole time though.

I can say that, playing or not, I hope you guys get your fixes, I spent too much time as a pikeman to want to see teh CB screw you all over once again, i hope pikeman becomes viable but not fotm. I hope that dots continue to become less and less of an IT factor in pvp.

Here's the skinny, folks.

If you're a pikeman/doctor or a pikeman/melee stacker, then yes, pikeman is WELL worth it.

I know what the numbers say. I know what the other professions say. I can see all these things, but I'll tell you something. I don't know of any other profession that can just wade into a huge group of mobs and just level them.

Run up to a lair, spam area attacks and 2 minutes later, 80k xp. Thanks for coming out.

Fencer and TK have better defenses, but you can glom those. Swordsman (supposedly) has better area attacks, but I've not seen a swordsman take out multiple mobs like a pikeman.

It's worth it, in my opinion.

Well for me Master Pikeman / Master Doc Its great, in both pvp and pve it serves me well, yes the defences are not all that compared to the likes of a defence stacker, but then when there ticking away and cant heal, i just chuckle

What people dont realise is how balanced this professsion actually is. I went a Teras Kasi Master and she only beat me in the end due to a slightly faster attack speed. We were pretty much equal all the way, HAM was going down very slowly but it was equal. From that point on i was amazed what I can do with a well I must say not the best Vibro Lance.

From that time on i jad so much respect for the profession and realised how good we can be if we actually know what we are doing with our sticks

Oh and FYI I have NO speed attachments, NO accuracy attachments and well NO attachments to speak of so well it was pure Master Pikeman oh and i used no DoTs

This TKM is a vet of her profession, we were going all out, and it lasted a while. I know how to use pikeman pretty well, not just spam random attacks

Swordsman have so many flippen area attacks it's not even funny and yes they are very good, even if they all do the same thing. We just don't have the cool knockdown dealy-bob, I've been a dual master swordsman/pike and I plan on going back very soon, swordsman is kinda attracting some unsavory flavor of the month chasers lately, so try not to judge us too harshly. Pikeman is just too much fun to stay away though. And as good as the pikeman & swordsman area attacks are, together with a pikeman AND a swordman. (pike AreaAttack2 + swordsman 2HSpin2) = the happiest duo you'll ever see. I used to roll as a Swordsman defense stacker with a Pikeman/Doc combo. It was like we lived at Zombo.com where anything is possible & the unattainable is attainable.
