The Royal Guard are extrememly limited, and considered the best of the best of the imperial army, hand selected.

A Master Pikeman doesn't come close to that. I am one, and I will be the first to tell you, we suck.

Royal guards/crimson elite are not only the best of the imperial army but they are also force sensitive. Tthat is why they carry a force pike instead of a regualr lance. However I think that instead of only master pikeman wearing the unifourm they could have it where only Pikeman with the title Foot Soldier could see the unifourm as a option to buy it.

All royal guards carried force pikes, but only as a cermoneyal weapon. There true weapons were a double-balded VL and some kind of pistol.

All I can say is - that would be too awesome ***Drool***
