That makes CL61 in my calculating
Today was the first time I really tested this template in combat as I soloed the Kashyyk Bladestick quest.
As I entered the Worshir Canopy, I decided that was a good point to repair my padded armor. Bad idea.My chest piece crumbled. Since most blows land in this area, looked like I was going to have to rely on what little Innate Armor I had. I put away my armor and donned a pair of comfortable pants and an ubese shirt to allow for good range of motion in my shoulders.
Soon after entering the Canopy, I ran into some yellow con CL63minstyngar breeders. I soloed these pretty easily with an unsliced VL, no food, no spice, and Innate Armor that absorbed almost 1/3 of damage taken. Improved CoBand Improved Intimidate saved the day, along with a couple timely StimD heals. There were also tons of red con CL64 minstyngar thrashers around, but I didn't want to chance fighting those until I had decent armor and was stocked up on food. The Bladestick was my main focus, and there was no reason to risk a DB.
After punching through several crowded mob areas with ICoB and Burst Run, I finally came to that dirty rotten Lobarror, who conned white at CL60, but must have been spiced out considering how much health he had. That's okay, because I had one draught of brandy left over from the party last night. He succumbed pretty easily to Intimidate, and I only had to heal once and refresh Intimidate once before taking him down. Ikept running into Action problems, so I had to alternate Melee Hit and Improved Impale and just wore him down over time, once again letting ICoB and II win the battle.
Not an uber showing compared to what most of you are probably used to, but not too shabby considering I have 106 skill points invested into an entertainer profession. ![]()
I celebrated by returning to Theed cantina, where I was the only dancer performing with padded armor pants and a Kashyyyk Bladestick.
Greatjob and nicely written tale!
Must say I've been having a blast with pike skills. I've always been ranged before as I hate FOTM profs (I respec'dout of rifles!), like to be a little different to others, so when pike lost it's dots/PvP might/ppl who only did it only to winetc I thought it was a great time to pick it up as I always rather fancied the look of it.
Last night I was quite happily solo'ing 3Arkuuans whilst trying my new VL (530 modded dps) for the first time, something I could never have done as the Pistoleer I was before (in fact I still am that as well). It's probably old hat to most of you here, but for me to stand toe to toe with 3 cl80 NPC's and win was a great feeling. Watching their damage on me get lower as I warcry'd and intim'd them, CoB macro running in the backgroud, learning the skills was SO much fun.
Yikes! I remember being a Rifleman/CH right after launch, and critters hit HARD when you're holding a rifle. I'm not sure if it's the same now, but melee did triple damage to someone holding a rifle back then. But also back then, CH could havethree pets of any level out, so I was usually hunting with an AR2 arachne webmaster (my fave pet of all time), rancor, and frenzied graul. There's no way anything should have been hitting me anyway. heh
But yeah, I'm in the same boat as you. I'm not used to all this great Pikeman defense. I'm finally getting comfortable with letting critters wail on me. My first couple of fights, I almost peed myself while waiting for CoB to refresh. Now I just sit back and watchthe-miss- rack up. Once I can afford new armor (the poor starving artist!), I'm going back to fight some of those red cons and then try to find some group action.
