Thats actually not far off. I have a Master Pikeman friend who has HAD to go medic(or at least he was not sure now)and Master CH. He used to be able to take out 3 yellow con mountains squills when I was teamed with him as a Novice BH. His area kd (I believe) absolutely rocked. At the end of the fight, he would have to sit for a minute to get is ham back from the specials cost and the mind cost of healing.
Now he is sticking with a gimped class that has little hope whereas TKAs seem to get all the love and need it the least. TKAs should have a 5m range, swordsman 10m, pikeman 15m (at least in pvp). IM a ranged guy, and tho I dont like those huge ranges, I can deal with it and realise thats one of the only ways to balance melee vs ranged in pvp.

Essentially, i don't mind being taken by guys with guns - that should happen - if someone is standing 60m away and starts shooting at me i should be in severe trouble. But they have included melee in the game so there should be a point to it. Thus, if we get close to a guy with a gun we should be able to murder him - not only knockdown to keep him there but there should be a special that cause limping or somethhing - so they can't run from us. Our HAM costs kill us, and the negative accuracy is simply ridiclous especially as i read a Dev comment somewhere that said something along the lines that no classes should have such a minus at ideal range. AAAANNNNNDDD i get whipprd by Teras Kesai who are know where near as experienced as me - maybe i'm a klutz. I've no problem with one class being superior to another - but it is the degree to which we are the whipping boys to everyone else. Plus creature handlers and their animals have taken the role of what i imagined melee to have - to hold back the advancing hordes for the marksmen to pick off. Anyway thats all my gripes and im usually a rather positive person 
I enjoy this game, I enjoy polearm i think its a cool weapon, and i love the animation. But sometimes its so frustrating......

Too many BHs have this notion we should roxXor everyones boxXorz in pvp and that just isnt the case. I get tired of hearing that cuz quite frankly I know the melee guys are getting majorly shafted. The thing I dont get is why the changes go to TKA and not the others. It makes no sense whatsoever.

work up the proffession before u complain its broke, sure i dont use any specials besides intimidate, but dont say we cant solo anything above chubas, i solo the nightsiter cave, rancors, mutant rancors, and grauls too, tk gots nothing special there, learn how to adapt and use the skills you do have in your favor instead of complaining about what u dont have.....thats what used to make the pikeman community good in the start, no complaining, happy for the small things we did get instead of the big things we didnt get, i wish the community was still like that now........
While I agree that things aren't quite as bad for us as they're commonly made out to be, I think it's perfectly valid that people complain. There are a lot of problems with the class. Yes, it is possible to work around them, but the doesn't make the problems any less serious and it doesn't mean we shouldn't complain. Nothing will get fixed if we don't make ourselves heard.
