While I do agree with the Jedi revamp kindly remind them that the longer they hold off on the combat balance the longer we sit and wait.


The one point I disagree with: the longer they hold off on the combat balance the more time people not in the professions that work well(Rifleman, TK, CM) either start tothink about switching to one that does, or start to browse World of Warcrafts homepage and plan on switching games period.








Personally Im just bummed overall after trying out my new set up of Master Pikeman/Master Swordsman against Enraged Rancors last night on Dathomir and finding out just how poor my pike performs comparatively



PS - I think Gunman does all he can for us, I think its the developer in charge of us thats the main problem - we share him with Bio-Engineer and look at how well that class has its concerns/bugs/issues dealt with, and how well he communicates with them.

ive recently picked up master swordsman and discovered it actually HURTS me to switch to my pikeman skills because of toughness and swordman area attacks are *better* at it then the 'master area attack' pikeman class..



its been a good 4 months of master pike...but even im not this much of a glutton for punishment. I never truely understood the imbalance until i picked up novice swordsman and then novice TK..both which outperformed my mpike out of the box.

That dosnt give me much hope, in fact makes me wonder whats the point in trying to change anything, beeing a master armoursmith dosnt leave much points left for combat, hell i gave up 3/4 of the rifleman i had so i could go master pike after MA MP and 4000 rifleman i have to swap nov scout and medic on a daily basis, looks like i have to just live with it as nothing will get done anytime soon, and the tone of these boards is just depressing, personally i AM enjoying pike, hel my guild mates ask me to cover snipe while hunting so others can get xp, i regularly see 4000 + apearing above the things im killing, and fully buffed ive not seem much stand im my way, apart from that tusken exocutioner but i realised a little to late what was happening, the tkm i was with didnt make it either on that one


I did do some cheacking on these forums before i started my restart of polearms and did see a lot of the complaints that are currenly being thrown about, but for the most part although i am affected by them and can see them happeningi just have to adapt, yes ive got some DOT lances, got a double dot nightsister of the bazzar for 6k! very nice and light enough on the ham for unbuffed specials, we all have our reasons for taking pike and keeping it, just remeber them

It's just so disheartening that's all. They see us hurting (and we really are hurting) for some fixes. I'm currently at 4-1-3-3 and I honestly don't have the desire to finish out the profession to mastery because it's just so gimped right now. In the meantime I'm having a ton of fun building up my BH toon on another server.


I'm just not used to this lowof alevel of customer service. The amount of known bugs and issues that are allowed to persist by the devs is nothing short of mind boggling. This is my first online game and I'm not used to this like some of the EQ vets are.


I've said it once and I'll say it again ad nasuem. This game is fun (I really do enjoy it) but it's my first and last SOE product simply because of the way they allow things to stay broken.


Jedi mission exploits on both sides (clone camping BH's vs Jedi's logging out) and CM poisions (how can they allow the fact that they are unaffected by the 75% PvP reduction AND armor persist for nearly 7 months now) are just a few of the things that are causing a lot of paying customers to become sick of this game. The devs know about them but for some insane reason they don't fix them or they make you wait months for the fixes (October D-Day patch that killed the chef profession for a month anyone?)


I've given up on petitions and plea's for the most part simply because it's insanity to do so. The legal definition of insanity is doing the same dumb thing over and over and over again but expecting a different result. Talking to the devs is sort of like that. It get's nothing done but we still try over and over and over again.


I've basically given up hope and have sorta just accepted that as a pikeman I'll be gimped for about the next 4-6 months until publishes 9 and 10 are done.


It's not the combat revamp being pushed back that has so many professions upset. It's the promised profession FIXES in the revamp being pushed back that has us all so upset. I know this is a game and all but the level of neglect by the devs towards our profession is starting to affect my ingame enjoyment and when that happens it's time to take a break from the grind.

Pikeman has not changed one iota since day one. We got a slight increase on our weapon accuracy mod, thats it. They threw in CoB to settle us down.


I find it interesting, that i can run around the Fort, all day long, with a crappy chestplate, and equally crappy helmet, re-leveling TKA, and not sweat it. As soon as the LVA come out, my HAM disappears if I even look at a special. Granted, as a master pikeman, I do enjoy not getting hit very often, but it always comes down to a waiting game with any high end tuskens. Can i whittle down their HAM, not using any specials, before I die? Sometimes yes, sometimes no.


I'm never buffed, except for powerboost, and use the odd brandy. With TKA, i can blind em, stun em, and auto attack away with minimal HAM use. I cant do that with a pike. I also stand as good a chance against a Warlord with my flame thrower, spamming flamesingle2. It uses almost nada for HAM.

me too.. im thinking that they are reluctant because they dont want to make it so powerful so quick that everyone wil cry that pikeman's can win easily.... we all know how flavor of the month people rely on the skill of the character and not of the person controlling it...


last thing we would want is to be given something and have it taken away... so in a way its good.. but until they work somethign out a new weapon would be easier... or have the force pikes not require the vibro motors... its hard enough to ge the schematic when certain people are reported to bethere every morning at reset...
