The problem is that those stats included all created characters. I've got 5 that I've created myself, though I only play 1 of them. 1 other I play if my main server is down, and the other 3 have been played for about an hour each--just wanted to try out other novice professions quickly. So while I'm a Master Pikeman, stats on my account alone would show only 20% pikemen.
If the average player has 3 characters, then assuming only 1 is actively played, you have to triple the stats for those metrics. In other words, the number of Novice pikemen isn't 1/400, it's actually only 1/133.
Oh, wait, THAT'S STILL VIRTUALLY NO ONE.
Actually, my guild of 70 people has 4 novice pikemen, though one plans to give it up and work towards commando, and the other is just a TKM doing the defensive line of the "other three" melee trees.
