Thread: Anyone tested the pikeman fixes on Test Center?
Those has NOT been added to server yet as I understand...notes mentions Vehicles being available to players among things. Just look at the list, and judge yourself. It was also posted after last major publish, and it said there might be changes before publishgoes alive.
Secondly I have not at least noticed any increase in skill numbers...

Someone please clarify if I got it all wrong ![]()
When bounty hunters complained about the LLC and commando's about their weapons we were not told that was a weaponsmith issue. The devs removed the rare components AND improved the weapon in the heavy weapons fix that made BH's and commando's so happy. It wasn't a weaponsmith issue it was a dev issue.
Besides weaponsmiths have already tried to inform the world about how some weapons are gimped because of crappy broken schematics/resources (ever heard of the "elite" carbine) to no avail.
I still feel the devs simply have no idea how much we miss plain and simple.
Remember the high negative accuracy mods are "not intended" and are supposed to be "looked into". I guess it's a very complicated system to change that -50 to a -30 or a -10 or something because they are obviously still looking into it.
I doubt the accuracy mod values are something that would take a while to fix. I cannot see how this could be difficult, it's just that they have more important things to take care of than worrying about changing a few numbers for a small percentage of players, I guess...I was pleased when the combat dev said he didn't like the negative mods, but nothing has come of it. After following the various correspondents working with the combat dev concerning the armor rating/piercing system, I think some of the devs are a little out-of-touch with what is actually happening in-game and will not believe what the players say is going on, even when hard data is presented.

This only helps the high-level pikemen, those who have yet to accumulate those accuracy points are in the same situation as before
BINGO
I want to be a pikeman. No holo drove me here I want to do it. I'm enjoying TKA and I want to be a pikeman along with it.
I've been a bounty hunter, a carbineer and I was a master marksman for months. I'm currently master brawler and halfway through TKA and working towards novice pikeman and it sucks. The root issue of all my grief is the fact that I miss 5-6 times in a row all the time. I didn't have that problem with BH, carbineer, marksman, TKA or any other brawler profession. Working up the tree with the horrible accuracy really and truly does suck for an up and coming pikeman.
"Just use a regular lance". Well guess what. It's slow doesn't do much damage and it's not that great either.
You know how I'm working up to novice pikeman. I'm doing destroy missions and cleaning up the mobs with TKA skills and taking out the lair with my LVA. Everytime I try to kill a mob with a lance after the 4th straight miss I get fed up and switch back to my VK's.
Hehe, back then I sent in CS tickets and /bug'ged the entire class many times out of pure frustration. Some of my /bug reports were along the lines of: "Surely you couldn't have possibly designed this class to be so weak and miss so often, it has to be a bug."
But really, you should make a special request to a master weaponsmith to make a very good regular lance, I have seen some that were very impressive, but I think you'll have to make a special request.
May the sunburns never run dry...

I followed the advice of CLab and went over to the weaponsmith forums.
I put in a post on their current issues and PM the correspondant and told him to rethink his position.
He said the horrible accuracy must be working as intended because of the intense damage pikeman can do.

They should have fixed the LVA a long time ago. They fixed the swordsman's powerhammer, it used to be -40,now they run about -31and hitting things is not a problem. There's no reason they can'timprove the LVA in a similar way.

Doesn't make much sense, as they stated on the weaponsmith forum, for the one elite weapon we get to be easily outclassed by a 3rd-tier base-class weapon that is also harder to use.
Anyone that believes weaponsmiths are to blame for the bad to hit modifiers on weapons needs to have their reality check bounced.
