Thread: Pikeman without Medic
Owee used to be one of the premier med suppliers on Intrepid so I'm sure he's well aware of the benefits of doc buffs. ![]()
I can't help you much because I am a doc and have my stats geared with constant buffs in mind, but muon gold is really only important if you spam specials(or if you're about to get mind incapped and your stomach is full); otherwise, the mind cost is no worse thanhealth and action cost. Ryshcate and Breath of Heaven would probably come in handy for you since they would help reduce the cost of specials, but it wouldn't help you heal any faster. Not sure what other foods would help you, but you can check this for upcoming changes to foods and see if you can find a better combination: http://home.comcast.net/~sciguyco/swg/FoodChart.htm
I do occasionally find myself in situation where I need to throw on my composite, leaving me with little focus/willpower so I can't spam specials. For those situations, I just make sure I have the entire crowd intimidated, apply the action bleeds, throw one or two area attacks to try to get stun to stick, then do normal attacks on one enemy. When I see one of the mobs is low on action thanks to the bleed and will die in one or two leghits, I finish it off, then go back to normal attacks.
You might consider picking upYaman LVA's and VL's with HAM experimentation. Don't quite remember what the stats are on health and action cost, but the mind cost went from 34-35 down to 24-25. That had a noticeable difference for me.

heh thats exactly where i am at though i am close to 0/0/3/3 on pikeman...definately will get there tonight after school lol...but yeah being a doc helps a lot since you can buff yourself...i definately recommend not going out without doc buffs they have become so essential to pikeman and most other combat professions for that matter...just hit up coronet i gaurentee that there will be a master doc on...there always is on bria in coronet...hit up there then hit up whatever secondary planet you like to xp on...and the ubese is a great suggestion as well...i wear composite now and its a pain in the arse...must....find...good...ubese...
So the combination that I use are:
- LVA (high health cost and especially painful for a rodian, but the damage is worth it to me)
- 33% health cost reduction powerups
- 1 shot of Tat Sunburns (I heard this is going away
). I dont take both shots to fill my drink bar because I keep fishak/flameout/pica thundercloud on standby in case of risk of incap - 1 shot of Thakitillo (health/strength/constitution booster and lasts 10 min)
- Neutron Pixie, Booster Blue, and Muon Gold on standby in case of risk of incap
- Wearing full advanced composite
I find this combination does pretty well, but **edit** do the fights take long cause of lack of accuracy. The new chef foods are prolly gonna throw this combo way out of whack. BTW, this is definitely one of those 12 min duration fights and then rest for 2-3 before eating more and starting again.
