I've been there. I've done that. You're 100% right.
My best pvp tactic is to use no special moves. That's typically my only hope, since otherwise, I'll do more damage to myself than the other guy. Sometimes I'll throw a knockdown just to be rude. Of course, if you're a TKA, you can throw a knockdown from which the other person cannot resume standing. We don't have that luxury. Oh well.

well, not to downtalk you or anything, but ive seen duels of master tka and master pikemen, the pikeman beat the tka more than the tka beat the pikeman. And yes, no kd on the duel.
I think the trick he did was to stun the target. Stun lowers some stats.. maybe it lowers defense too? Then put in the bleed and threw in a leg hit every now and then...the tka in the meantime was spamming punches like mad and killing himself...and i think the bleed and the sporadic leg hits brought his action down to incap.
again, im not sure how he did it, but the master pikeman in dath. a few days ago in bria dueling several tka's one by one won most of the time. unbuffed.

I have no big complaints about the Pikeman profession. I have one on the Wanderhome server named Stal'ike. He is a Master Doctor / Novice Pikeman lvl's 1,1,1,1. I love fighting NPC's, but it seems to me that polearm hit 2 barely does any more damage than polearm hit 1 for me. I have a question for you Bluefurryone. What type of pike do you use? You say you missed 12 out of 13 times? With stats like that it wouldn't matter how hard you hit unless it was as hard as a Commando hits for an average attack... heh. Seriously though, with my 1,1,1,1 Pikeman i fight in duels all the time against all classes. I buff myself of course, but that's just because i have 400 health, 400 action, and 1100 mind. Without the buffs i'm about useless in a fight, heh. I have fought several Master Bounty Hunters, (one at a time of course) and as long as they don't spam Eye Shot I win almost every time. Yes, I do use KD, but that's just to stop them from running 20 meters ahead of me giving myself or any brawler class a definate loss. In duels I hit for an average of 95 - 130 damage with no special moves, but whenI use my specials I hit for anywhere from 260 - i've only done this once 680 per hit. I almost never miss unless i'm fighting a TKA, then i miss about half the time. I could see you missing alot if you use a Long Vibro Axe because those have the worst accruicy of any weapon in the game. An Engineer with no Marksman skills, not even novice, could hit more oftenthan a Pikeman with a Long Vibro Axe hits in a PVP duel. If you are useing a Long Vibro Axe then i suggest you try a Vibro Lance.
