This is the second one in 2 days. We should really start massive postings so people have some current issues to respond to.
Regarding getting Terrain Nego in the Ranger tree, it doesn't help you run faster up hills... Speed climbing hills and such get capped at Terrain Nego 50 which is what you get at Master Scout or uh combat medic if i'm not wrong or Squad Leader... but that's not the point... Any mods post +50 only helps you to crawl faster..
but i do agree that there should be some traps that works on NPCs/Players.. Possibly at Adv Trapping IV of the Ranger Tree... since there are 2 traps of the ranger tree that Dizzy.. Lecap dart and Sonic Pulse.. which has absolutely no use on creatures -_-
I was thinking maybe Melee users can get a weapon throwing manouver? Think - Sabre throw.. Well if i can't run down my target, i'm quite sure he can't avoid a 1, maybe 2metre long object hurled athim that easily...
My suggestion for the kiting problem...
It works on Stormies that try to kite me, it may work in PVP (may not) - but try, at least. Bring a basic lance (speed sliced) or staff with you. I use a speed sliced basic lance. Yes, moving and hitting is not easy. I'll lunge (posture-change) kiting Stormtroopers on a regular basis. With time to followup with a sweep (I'm only 0/0/1/1). The+ range modswith my modest accuracy bonus (I think I have it), allow me a better than 50 % chance of knocking that stormy down long enough to follow up.
Misterie
Wow, talk about a necro thread....
I have never had a real big problem with this myself in pvp. I don't know about you, but all the pvp i do is in cities... and if you know your enviroment you already have the battle halfway won.
First, if you are declared and looking for pvp in a city, drop all your melee tags, and opt for either a ranged tag or a medic tag. Also, take out some gun, preferably a pistol. This may be deceptive (and less effective now with the mastering awards...if they examine you and you are a master melee, they will know), and I myself rarely have to do it, but it works. Next advance on them. If you are buffed, i would burst run. Make sure you are near a building, like a med center or cloning center.
If you catch them, well there ya are. Mission complete. Switch weapons and commence ownage. If not, and they start kiting, make a b-line for that building. If its a med center or cloning center, they are gonna have to come inside. And the halls are very narrow, providing little room for them to manuever or kite. THey will more or less be at your mercy.
