Seems to me that 3 of every 4 slices is speed lately.

I just obtained a 2.9 174-639 VL from an auction, and I'm too afraid to get it sliced, I would see it pointless to get a speed slice, think is hould leave it alone?

Last night I looted a kick ass pike off an Elder. 1.7 spd 770 (can't remember exact dmg) and it got a 20% dmg slice! Its now about 890 dmg.
Its also got +25 def vs. intim and +19 def vs. dizzy as well as about 1/2 the h/a/m costs of a standard pike. I'm a happy camper!

Naw man get it sliced....not matter what slice you get it will be better than what it currently is, even if its...the dreaded speed slice. Just cross your fingers and toes and wish for the best!

I gave it a shot with a master smuggler today, and she turned that 2.9 174-639 monster into a 2.9 224-824 with a 29% damage slice- I had to give her a kiss and a 30K tip! I wished so hard and it worked.

You just need to find an expert slicer. Personally there's a few on my server, myself included, who have found a pattern in slicing. I just find the 30+ dmg slice on my chart, slice till i get right before that, then slice my wepon with that one... not a single slice on any of my wepons under 31dmg. I'm sure there's others like that on all your servers

Did I mention all the other speed slices that came in front of it and behind it on krayt ranged weapons and some other good ones? Eight speed slices in a row.

arent you just hurting condition by slicing these things... as if the stats suck and you need a slice. Why take a chance on a crap slice when you can hurt it?

As far as I know, condition life is about the same as an unsliced regular crafted/loot weapon. It's weapons made with Geo cubes, krayt tissues, and Ackley bones that has condition drop faster (My 1014 Krayt Republic Blaster went down 17 pts in one mission, my 960 cond unsliced Krayt Scout went down 90 pts in one session, my 943 cond Scythe is down to 863 and I've only used it twice). On the other hand a 1.9 speed sliced 2-hand curved is still in the upper 600's of 940 condition and I've had it 4 months and used it almost exclusively.

Damn sorry to hear about that one Padre. I know its hard to hear but its still an amazing weapon.

Yeah it is the best one I know of on Intrepid. If that 24% had been damage...I weep just thinking about it.
