The reason is that, sadly, as a pikeman, there is no other way.

Folks, if they nerf CM poisons in PvP, they will nerf our DoTs sooner or later. If they don't do at the same time we'll just swipe CM's role in PvP, become a huge FotM, and get everyone crying to nerf us until it happens.

Better to just knock them down from the start and avoid that whole mess. Hopefully we'll get our other issues worked out before it happens, since you can bet they'll act to nerf us a hell of a lot quicker than they act to fix us. If the thought process during the combat rebalance involves keeping us weak because we have better access to looted weapons that's only going to cause us more trouble.

Well, the combat revamp is going to change a lot of things and hopefully they change for the better. I know there is going to be a GIGANTIC nerf of composite here in the near future. It needs to happen. Armor is out of control. The next 2 or 3 publishes are going to completely change the entire game, let's hope its for the best.

Im currently doing pikeman,..i have some wicked DoT pikes, but id prefer for us to get nerfed if it meant CM's got nerfed too, i have no respect for anyone who plays that prof, is so bad its almost exploiting to be a CM imo

There's more to it than that, to be fair. I have a buddy who plays a CM so he can heal at range, and rarely uses the poisons. It's nice to be able to tank something, and have a buddy heal without peeling the critter off you.

Seriously, I hope they reduce the effectiveness of DOTs. I just hope they include a fixing-the-rest-of-us to make up for it.

this would also be cool to nerfing the dot's and/or make the NS lances a different cert than basic lance, people aren't even having to takethe novice profession, they can use that in brawler???? it's obcene. eh, at least it will only last a month.

actually it's pretty funny, i noticed that today there was a guy grinding outside coro and i watched him attack and miss 5 out of 6 times and thenafter a similar round of that a dot stuck.i thought it was great.
