Tenshi of bloodfin solo'd a elder with dots and a energy lance. The output of dmg from a NSEL is tiny but still worth doing. 40min is what it tookher. I took a elder with a HS last night. Stacking fire and poison whilst using a NSEL & he was targeting mind with a hammer. It took about 7/8min. I think if at a guess i did about60k of dmg spread across 3 HAMs just with the NSEL so I think it was worth pulling it out.

Takes a long long long time. Pre npc boost I killed an elder with one, took me a whole buff period. Now I haven't tried and most likly won't, Just a waste of time.

It took me probably 20-30min possibly. I kept its mind poison'ed/fire'ed because those were the only DoT's that I had (was on the PvP pikeman toon) just to help lower the resists a bit quicker (Killed the elder by health). I got a nice 30% damage slice on my good NSEL that brought it up to 575 with a PuP (507 or so without)(have 4 other base stat ones sitting unsliced in my house, this one I like the most) so I'd imagine using that now would make it a 15-20min affair, depending on how much higher its health was than the other stats. Its just better to bring a speed capped rifleman with a decent damage sliced T21 and take them out that way. One big thing about elder hunting is you MUST keep them intimidated for the life of you.

hehe i know speedcapped rifle is better (they are better than anything). I usually go with a group, but sometimes I like to cruise dath solo. I figure at least SMC gurdians should be doable with NSEL

Damn, you soloed an elder before as a pikeman? I must be doing something terribly wrong. If I were to try tosolo a NS elder, I would die withing 1 min max. My temp is mast. pike/0004 tk/mast. marks/4000 commando. I've heard of (and seen) swordsmen soloing them, but never a pikeman. What did you eat and drink before you attacked? Were you using crazy 80% base 90% special armor with a 500-1200 lva? Fill me in, bro. I wanna do this to. Would it have been possible to do it if you weren't able to heal yourself (asking this because I can't).
