I recently started back up with SWG after leaving for a year, joined at startup but left after a couple months b/c of all the bugs in the professions.
My question is, has pikeman been improved any. I plan to be a CH/Pikeman, i like the idea of being kind of a nomad. Will i be able to solo as pikeman, when i left pikeman were grossly underpowered.
If anyone could let me know of any improvements to Pikeman or anything else in the game you think i should know i would greatly appreciate it.

Well, no major changes have occurred. We don't see any coming until the combat balance. Pikeman is still uber in PvE, but weak in PvP without DOT weapons, which of course, you have to loot.

The accuracy on the LVA and VL has been improved. CoB was added.
Those are the only noteworthy changes pikeman has received since launch.

CH/Pikeman,I think is actually a good combo, though some will dispute that. Between you and your pets there shouldn't be anything you cannot handle.

Just noticed you're a Wookiee too. Wookiee armor was added, which makes a HUGE difference in your ability to solo. You'll find things much easier now.

Wookie armor, nice. Is it tough to come by? What are the names of armor i should keep an eye out for?
The best armor, and the one that's easiest to find these days, is Kashyyykian Hunting Armor. It's the equivalent of composite armor. I'm sure its availibility varies from server to server, but on Shadowfire it can be tricky to find. Lots of organics and creature resources go into it, so a lot of smiths don't bother making it.
Black Mountain armor can also be quite good for PvE, thanks to high kinetic resists and relatively low encumbrance. Unfortunately it's even more difficult to find due to a lower demand for it.

Plenty of Wookie Hunting Armor on Starsider. 300K will get you a nice set.

Bowcasters go for about 6-7K on Starsider. I, like many Wookies, are hoping they make this an uber rifle in the combat revamp.

Yeah, I typically sell the ones I make for 6k on the bazaar. I use good components, but since I'm not a weaponsmith they're not exactly high quality weapons
Not a lot of people sell bowcasters, and most people shopping for one don't care all that much about the stats (they're more a RP/aesthetic weapon than a useful one). Makes it pretty easy for even low-quality bowcasters to sell well.

Episode VII
Return of the Pikeman
With an ever growing dread
among the Empire for the destruction
of their third Death Star. The Empire has
chosen to abandon all future space station
ideas and live underground. Perhaps in these
close quarters the Rebels will not be able to attack
with their dangerous Starships and powerful guns that
plague the Empire everyday.
Little known however, is a small group of armored men and
women that dominate the galaxy with their lances and axes. These
new defenders of the Galaxy are more feared than the Jedi Knights. This
smallgroup has captured the fear of both the Rebellion and the Empire as the
the new ultimate power of the Universe.
A probe droid has discovered a secret base containing the secrets of these warriors....

Yeah i originally made them b/c i couldn't find them anywhere. Keep a couple for myself and sell the rest, maybe actually make some money.
