what is a good template for not being knockdown as much as i have been lately.i am currently tkm/master brawler/master fencer/medic 1000/pikeman 2004.

ive been thinking master pikeman would be nice but im really not sure. ive been getting knocked down for over 15-20 seconds by every jedi ive fought today and getting slaughtered. im not a nub and i have killed many jedi before but it seems it is much stronger then it used to be. i heard pistols defences were nice with some fencer or pikeman. my template is great for regular professions but it just seems that they are knocking me down badly in a hit or 2. any ideas?

I'd go with this template I am currently using on my server...since most people have dot rifles and other weapons, I grinded back doctor template, but with a new twist..

Master Pikeman

Master Medic

Doctor 4030(get 80med use P/D cures, if not 4040)

Fencer 4400(or 3400 see above)

High defense...including 70 def vs KD

and 80 defense vs posture change...if you do get KDed and dizzied...you can cure the dizzy off with the stand;healstate dizzy self macro. I

If you want master pikemen, be good idea get polearm speed to 94, and a good arsenol of Damage pikes, dots also if you prefer.

Actually, being both master TK and master fencer you already have the best defenses against a knockdown/dizzy. You will have 80 or so (forgot exact number) in combat equilibrium, so even if you get knockdowned you will have an extremely good chance of getting up again if you try to /stand

The point is: I don't think you situation will be improved by switching template.

Are you using the food Thakitillo (defense against knockdown food)? I'd pick some up if you're not. It will put you over the top.

This is all just my opinion but ...

To succeed in PvP here in SWG, you need to grab any advantage you can. Food, drink, spice, high end armor, and the best possible weapons/equipment you can get your hands on. Like for example, you'll often see the difference between the winner and loser is the one who spent the time to shop around to find (or loot) the absolute best ackley bones for their stun baton or those high end vibro units for the LVA.

It sounds like you're doing pretty well in PvP already. If you start capitolize of some of the foods and other items mentioned above, you should really see a difference in your PvP rating.

i never had to use food for my defences in the past and i did just fine. but i guess i will just have to pick up some of the food now. and just picked up a few suits of 37% stun 90%base and it rocks

Versus jedi...you don't want to wear armor...

not in a duel against a jedi no, but in factional PvP, a jedi is very seldom alone, and switching between armor and clothing takes too long, so I tend to focus tactics to include being in armor.

Thaktillo is essential!! As stevo said I have the same build master pike/4400 fencer/4030 doc great template.

One thing with Thaktillo that most people don't know is that not only does it increase yoru KD def but also increase your COmbat Equilibrium as a by product meanign it helps you recover from a KD/Dizzy faster than not using it!
